I'm not sure if it has anything to do with you the forum admins or proboards, but I find the four-character minimum on the search feature excessively restrictive. I'm not sure why any minimum character count is needed, but four letters just seem unnecessary to me.

It frustrated me that I could not find a thread containing a picture of a G36 painted tan that I had accessed earlier because I couldn't search using the terms G36 or tan.

EDIT: Like manofskilltoys said, it's per word, not for the whole phrase. Forgot to mention that originally.

Each word must be more than four characters long. I also found this annoying since I could not search for things such as KJW or HPA.

As far as I know, this is a Proboards thing, unfortunately. I know I personally cannot change anything relating to the search function.

If people are willing to help donate a little to the cause I'd be willing to register a domain (www.airsoftmarksmen.com ) or something similar and give us a custom designed forum that could fix issues like this.. just a suggestion. I do web design and coding as a primary profession now that I'm out of the military.

The problem with this Maverick, is that when people try and start branch forums/websites, it takes away from the original place that started it all. I've seen it (And tried it) several times on Michigan Airsoft and everytime it fails within three or four months. It's just easier to have airsoftsniper has a registered name in Google so when you're typing it in you know you're going to get this website.

A simple search feature should not be a reason to completely replace an entire forum. However I'm not telling you what you can and cannot do, I'm simply telling you from my experience what tends to happen in these sort of situations.
