Would it be possible to maybe get a shout box going? The Halloween forum that I am on has one and works great. Not sure if vBulletin has the capabilities.

I could be wrong but isn't that vbulletin too? Anyway, it would be nice to get a chatbox going. It would be much faster if we want to quickly talk about something. I'd be surprised if vbulletin didn't have the capability.

Very true. I think how the Halloween forum does it, it is only members can use it. Anyone can view it, but just members can make posts.

I find that chat rooms take away from forum activity, and I'm not sure that's something we'd like here. All info exchanged wouldn't be archived and accessible, like it is on the forum.

I was thinking it could help with questions that only require one definite answer, while open ended questions be asked in a thread. It doesn't make sense for someone to make a thread about the length of a VSR barrel for example, just to have a single person answer it and finish the thread. Though you do have a point that posting it as a thread would keep it archived.

Good question posters could be told to make a topic in the forum, repeated questioners can just be told to search or answered if someone is nice on, and just general thoughts and chit chat can be crossed quickly and instantly without the need to PM back and forth.

I have to agree with the Admin on this one. I would hate to see that most people are in a chat room and not much new happens on the forum itself.
It might as well be Airsoft Sniper Chatroom.

+1 to the above... No need for that here, it's a pretty free forum with not many restrictions!

I was on the sniper land and posted something about the a semi auto gas rifle and everybody told me it's forbidden to post anything else besides bolt actions, only side arms are tolerated!!

Thats one of the things I love about here and I would hate to see it decline because people are in a chat room.

Thats a strong possibility. Also, conversations could become heated and ruin the fun for people.
