You could just change the grip to a real wooden one and remove the lead weights that are usually inside.
Sidearm suggestions?
I currently own a KWA M1911 DS PTP. It is rediculously heavy.
So I want to invest in a different sidearm sometime soon. My requirements are Single Stack, Light but preferably metal slide and frame, NOT a gas guzzler, fps from 280-320, and not a glock. Any other modern pistol is fine.
So, any suggestions?

TM MEU. I absolutely love mine, and is better than the KJW m9 I had in so many ways.
1. Mags are much thinner, so they can easily be placed in pistol pouch/removed from pouch with ease.
2. Pistol is extremely light.
3. Slide is plastic. Makes for really quick and crisp recoil. Might not feel the most durable, but it has been dropped a few times and shows no signs of cracking/breaking.
4. Mags are easy to work with. My old m9 had terribly designed mags, and were extremely hard to fix for leaks. I can fix up a leaky 1911 mag in a matter of minutes with no problem, and take it down, add some thick o-rings, and still manage to put it together with ease.
5. Great hop up system. Very easy to hit targets from 100 feet. I only say 100 as I hardly ever use my pistol past 50 feet, let alone 25.
6. Lots of spare parts available including upgrades.
However, there are a few cons:
1. Mags are hard as hell to find in the states.
2. The safety sometimes goes on while holstered and can delay firing speed.
3. Mags only hold enough gas for one full mag if that. I usually only load up around 20 rounds in my mags, as this ensures the slide locks back after all shots are fired. 20 shots per mag is plenty though, and this is not a huge deal. However, some more room for gas would be nice as it ensures you can get a whole mag off every time.

Same with the TM ones they weigh like that too. Just carry less mags.
Yes they can take propan but with a plastic slide the gun is more susceptible to a crack. If I were you I'd just get a P226, a lot of people have 'em in Ireland and they are lightweight and good on gas.

The TM's take propane like Grass said, and so far after a few months use, no signs of wear and tear.
As for where to buy the mags, I have yet to find any in stock in the states, and am currently trying to snag one in the local commerce section of the forums. I got two with my MEU originally, but could use a third.

I love my WE single stack 1911.
YOu could buy the ones for like $15 off of ebairsoft or something. They are compatible but not the best for getting a lot of rounds down. In Ireland where it is cold enough I would only get off maybe 15 rounds on a warm day, however I occasionally get off a full mag. Back in 2005, a few months before I sold all my stuff and moved, I bought a WE all metal gbb. It was a novelty item back then, cool to look at and play around with at home but not very skirmish able.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago, I bought a WE Desert Warrior 4.3. To be honest I don't see any improvement from my old 2005 version. And even at home in a 75 degree environment, that mag cools down WAY to fast. It's also a gas guzzler. Sloppy tolerances. Walking around with the thing in a drop leg sounds like a I have a bunch of metal clanging around in my pocket.
Just my opinion, but it seems like there are much better options out there than WE gbb's for a sniper sidearm. What about a smaller KWA ns2 gbb?

Seeing as you're already a KWA owner, and you seem to be moving away from it, I might sound a bit foolish to recommend my setup. I either run my KWA P226 or my KWA MP7 as backup, with few problems at all. I tend to run my MP7 more, simply because I'm a new sniper and I'm still getting used to using my rifle. However when I have my MP7 slung and in the dump pouch I can easily crawl and move around with my rifle.
You also get some significant firepower. Unmodded, my MP7 hits 400fps at 1200rpm no problem XD
I guess if you want something smaller though, the TM desert warrior is an excellent choice, provided you are in a somewhat desert environment.

What do you guys think about the Tm P226? I looked at it, it has a thin mag that holds 26rnds, and the new "E2" model has cool down modifictaions; so it doesn't coold donw as amuch. I also love the Sig Sauer design.
The E2s are amazingly comfortable. I got to hold a RS one and it just fits my hand so much better if that sways your decision.

Get a crosman p99 spring operated handgun. Best gun evermade....lol.
I would suggest the TM PX4.
Great distance and accuracy stock, gas consumption is low (I think.. usually I can empty the magazine twice), and easily adjustable hop-up.

To add to what has been said (by me) about it hard to find TM MEU mags...
Regular 1911 mags work from both the KJW and TM brands. Same with KJW MEU mags. So if you are looking for MEU mags, just buy some regular 1911's.

Thanks Fuzzy! That's a solid piece of info right there! Can you weigh your pistol(w/o mag) for me? Im interested in the weight.
You can take the weights out of the grips which lightens it massively.
