Recently Cyma released a new SVD. As i was looking to buy another SVD decided to try the new one. To start it has a proper aluminum receiver making it a little lighter overall bit more solid then the old pot metal receiver. The second and more beneficial upgrade is the gearbox. To start it is a quick change design that only requires you to remove the dusk cover to swap the spring. It now comes stock now with a steel tooth piston very similar to the SHS piston with a bit of a beefer piston head and cylinder head to go with it. The last improvement in the gear box are steel ball bearing and a ball bearing spring guide. Lastly while it doesn't come with the gun the new plastic mags seem to be a fairly large improvement over the old steel mags. They lock far better in the magwell then the old steel mags and carry 20 more rounds in the mag.
Overall for anyone looking to get a new SVD unless your looking to get the classic wood. I would 100 percent recommend getting this new model for the gearbox improvements

External barrel cut down 3 inches or 76mm for my none Americans friends
Set to 2.1 joules with .4s per local limits
I can comfortably hit 80 yards (73 Meters) torso sized targets constantly but can make shot a good bit farther with good wind conditions.
Scope is a LPVO from Ohhunt same with the scope mount
