Sniper Impression Loadout

Recently, after getting my hands on some new gear and such, I have been toying with the idea of putting together a realistic sniper loadout. While I will most likely not use/carry everything onto the field for an ordinary field game, I would still find it fun/neat to try and get a good sniper/recon impression down.

I have been searching all over google, and have found some neat stuff, as well as some good ideas when putting this kit together. I am not trying to be 100% correct in this impression, but would still like to put together a kit that represents what a sniper carries out there in the real world.

My goal is to put something together along the lines of preparing for a three-four day trip. That means having everything I need to last for that amount of days, including gear, food, water, ammo, guns, etc.

I am posting here to see what any of you have to suggest, so far I have the following:

1. Rifle
---4-5 mags
---3x9x40 scope or 4x32 scope
---Bipod
---Rifle wrap
---550 cord sling

Secondary Weapon
---m4 x 0 mags-----need to get my hands on some
---Suppressor

2. Glock
---2 mags (obviously going to need to get my hands on some more)
---Mag Guard
---Lanyard

3. Battle Belt-The best method for carrying gear in my experience, especially when wearing a ghillie
---Single Pistol pouch (rifle mag)
---Double pistol pouch (pistol mag--soon to be mags)
---m4 pouch ((radio) as well as rifle mag)
---Double m4 pouch (water and rifle mag/dental floss)
---Lanyard
---Pistol holster
---Other (suspenders)
---Hydration pack

4. 3Day Pack:
---Rubber Training Knife (resembles real knife)
---Bottled Water
---Snack Bars (toying with buying a MRE Pack from evike)
---Pair of Socks (extra)

5. Uniform/Apparel
---Woodland Pants
---Tan Under shirt
---Woodland BDU
---Ghillie Jacket
---Ghillie boonie
---Ghillie Pants??

6. Other items:
---Knife
---Floss
---ESS Goggles
---Face paint
---Balaclava
---Condor Hat w/American flag patch
---Boots
---Medical Tape
---Electric tape
---Data book/pen
---Binoculars
---Unjamming rod (resembles cleaning kit--add paper towels, cue tips , etc.)

You stole my idea! I'm working on a current day DM loadout. It's close to what this is, I only subbed out the Desert MARPAT for Multicam, and am running a plate carrier (This is the urban version, so no need for the battle belt) and is a sqaud based one.

The stuff you have listed is literally perfect. The food stuff you have to get. You may want to throw in some extra pouches, I noticed they use a fanny pack, not sure what it is though.
The fanny packs are usually the size of a medic pouch I Believe

A fanny would be cool, but how would that work with the battle belt?

If you were to make the M4 realistic to what spotters/snipers use, you would need to shorten the barrel length to CQB legnth and put a QD supressor on it. It would help you too, Lighter, shorter, and easier to move with.

Looks like a great kit though. +1 man!
Great point Ct, the m4 portion needs work. Needs mags, shorter barrel, shorter suppressor, etc. But thought I would throw her in to show you what I am working with.

Thanks for the tips!

to add to that, while not acurate, 'nam mags are lower profile for a spotters loadout.
My group is planning on having a 24 hour game here soon, so that means I will have to get my gear up and together.

When I do I will get a pic of what I usually run.
Woogie, I am hopping on a plane, and will be there shortly.

Sounds like a ton of fun man, definitely get a pic up of what you are running as well as some in game shots.

Fuzzy, if you could get through a 3-4 day game on 5 snack bars and 3 small bottles of water, then you are a much better man than I.

Haha, that stuff is just for show, I would definitely carry much more for a 3-4 day game, not to mention some bars that actually taste like food. ::)
Without the ghillie pant you can move faster and silently. The ghillie I'm building is on a flight suit but I'm thinking to built one only upper part

Just like that I move too.
Just the jacket, for the legs with a little tape you need a few seconds to put grasses and cover them

if you see the photos in the legs that I've done (foto 2)

I had pants on the list, but I really don't bother with them much anymore. I am thinking about making another thing of pants when I have the time, but only with much much less jute and basically just netting. Much easier to attach a bit of veg and call it a day.
Just thought I would put this in here, if you have an ipod touch, iphone, ect. you can get an app called army sniper for a couple bucks unless your like me and like to use Installious. :) Anyways this app will have a list of everything a sniper would take out.

I remember those days, when you have the 100 pages of apps you never use... and then I remember my first cease and desist letter. That was fun :)

But how about you tell us what that app says? ;)
