Ok so
Me and my last 2 brain cells are crying rn trying to make my Cyma l96 AKA CM 703 shoot. The problem is (see video) that the charging handle won’t go back to where I cocked it from. The trigger removed the cylinder just glides through the receiver, once I screw the trigger on, cock it, it don’t go back. If something like this happened to you please tell me hot you solved it, if not just tell me what can I do

I feel your frustration, but don’t worry… I’m not a scientist🤪
Disassembly everything and check the parts one by one. Its a look-search and find the cause of this issue. Obviously something blocks the cylinder to move forward. Try to notice any weird thing-part that prevents the full movement of cylinder.
This happened suddenly? Was working properly before? Did you do something lately to the inner parts? Did you change something? Did you add something? Check the inner parts that nothing is broken or deformed and blocks the cylinder…

I have upgraded the gun with the airsoftpro metal piston and spring guide. It worked fine for a while. Than I watched a youtube video which told me that putting lubricant between the nozzle and piston is wrong. I was like "Its fine ill open it up and clean it" so I did. After assembling the gun back, I tried to load it, the cylinder won't go back.

Although just yesterday I noticed that the cylinder and the charging handle had a gap between each other (see picture)

So I'm thinking that is the reason why the spring guide isn't doing his job and lets the piston wobble around and scratch/get stuck in the cylinder. Am I right?

And yeah now the cylinder is scratched from inside and I will need to sandpaper it from inside because getting a new one is 45$ and 50 minutes wasted to find it somewhere

Sounds like your cylinder is failing and needs replacing. Common issue with stock cylinders of crimped on. Upload a pic and we can confirm.

The cylinder is a crimped one. The crimps were losen and l crimped it again

Replacing it would be complicated. It’s really hard to find. I can order from experts to make a new one though if you’re sure it’s a cylinder problem

If I recall correctly, it is a TM L96 clone which means any cylinder set for those will work.
Here's one: airsoft pro Complete cylinder set for TM L96 (Well MB44xx)

For other trouble shooting:

• If you have bearings on your spring guide, try removing them.
• Try it out without the spring inside.
• See if the spring fits into the the piston well when fully compressed.

The difference between TM l96 and CYMA l96 are the cylinder sizes. Cyma has a smaller cylinder and also the link you sent is out of stock so it’s a no go. But I am suspecting the trigger after looking at this picture

As you can see when the trigger is active, it presses the piston to the cylinder and I think that is the problem that doesn’t let me push it back. I disassembled the trigger and removed the part that holds the piston (triangle thingy inside the trigger box) and then I cocked the gun, nothing got stuck. So my hypothesis is that it’s not a cylinder or piston or the spring guide, it’s the trigger.

On the pull back, what you are actually doing is pushing the spring guide through the cylinder, and compressing the spring.
If it doesn't cock all the way, this means that you haven't managed to push the spring guide the correct distance. This is why I suggested removing any bearings, and seeing if it can travel all the way.
It could also mean that the sear is being prevented from engaging.
Try pushing the sear down, and see if it moves down.

It used to work using the same setup as it is now

I’ll try to prevent the trigger thingy (the triangle that holds the piston) from going up too much and see what happens brb

Bruh I was right it’s was the trigger
I putted a pice of wood so it will limit the trigger moving further (see picture)
And yeah it worked

Glad you fixed it.

Honestly that cylinder doesn't look to healthy and I would budget for a replacement shortly.

If it fails as your using it the results couldn't be a very bruised/smashed cheek.

Alternatively you could get another gun as the aws platform isn't great for anything over 1.5 joules due to low cylinder volume.
