I'd like to know what kinds of music snipers listen to.

Generally when I think of snipers I think of a more intellectual type of person. As seen in this forum, most people are well spoken, and knowledgeable. People who have experience with their guns, or teching, and actually know what they're talking about, rather than just talking out of their asses. Snipers tend to be older and more mature than the usual kid airsofters.

That being said, music appeals to people for different reasons. Some people like music for parties. Some prefer some metal that gets you pumped. Some like more intellectual music with lyrics that send messages to you about life, and your purpose or changes in society. Some people listen to music because you enjoy the technically of the instruments. I love anything that isn't repetitive and boring. Generally progressive metal. But I love classical too. Or really off-beat jazz? What do you like?

Okay, I'm really bored.

Well being a '70s child I grew up hearing classic rock, in my teen years I was into New Wave British Heavy Metal, as it was better than listening to duran duran :)doh:), later I started to get heavily into 90's Death metal, as it was, again, better than lipstick and hairspray rock that was being chuned out at the time, and more or less stuck there until I re discovered Classic and Prog Rock and Prog metal in all its forms, from bands like Caravan and Jethro Tull :)bow:) right through to Gojira and Mastadon ()

I like a lot of music.

Rockier and Johnny Cash-ier - Rory Gallagher, THIN LIZZY Jimi Hendrix, Creedence Clearwater, The rolling stones, Led Zepplin, The Animals, ACDC, Nirvana, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Pink Floyd, the Doors, the Beatles, Eric Clapton (Cream) and Deep Purple.

Alternative music or alternative rock - The Black Keys, Kings of Leon, foo fighters, Massive attack and the red hot chilli peppers (Despite 90% of their songs being the same)

Lighter music - Mazzy Star, Nina Simone (Occasionally), Woodkid, sun kil moon, The National, Adele and Van morrison.

Bluegrass and traditional, - Medieval lyre and Mandalin, some bluegrass, Irish traditional, Irish Harp and bodrhan with guitar. I do enjoy Classical also, I always listen to it on the radio, I never download it though.....

Other - Tom waits, Moby, Ennio Morricone, Lou Reed, Lenord Cohen and Rage against the machine. Harmonica.

If Phil Lynott from Thin Lizzy didn't die they'd be bigger than U2. So :bird: U2!

Also quote from Jimi Hendrix when asked what it's like to be the best guitarist in the world ""I don't know, ask Rory Gallagher"
 to good music. :shot: 's on me.

I was bored so I said I'd write out my "Like" list. Personally I believe I have a pretty good taste in music for a 16 year old.

Hard rock and metal. One of my favorite bands is Rammstein.

Dude. I feel you. I love thin lizzy, and fuck U2 :hehe: I also fucking love pink floyd. I'm usually listening to Progressive deathcore, or Djent, but sometimes, like now I just play the whole dark side of the moon album and chill. However, as far as what I play goes, I do strictly progdeath. I love the insane guitar parts. They're fun to play.

As far as alternative, I'm not a big fan for the most part but RHCP usually has a lot of tempo changes or breaks, and it doesn't bore me. Like By the way. It's almost progressive in a way.

Your choice of music is like your choice of ice cream. Judging someone by their choice of ice cream is a bit harsh....Have you ever met doctors who enjoy rap music? I've met a few, but they're intelligent. Doesn't prove much to me.

Furthermore, I love music that sounds good. I don't see genre, just good music. I'm sure a lot of members would agree.

Being a guitarist, I enjoy Led Zeppelin....

I agree with the whole genre thing but you must admit, that on average people who listen to Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Rhianna etc. are thicker than the rest of us.

No one has mentioned Jazz, I quite like that too.

O and Bon Iver and Billie holiday are good too.

Haha. It's true.

I like jazz too. Not enough to get me to download it, but The jazz station is the only one I really listen to. The radio stations in south flordia are overrun by crap like the above listed, or spanish hip hop stuff. :lame:

Hard rock, rock, and metal. Anything from black stone cherry, seether, and shine down all the way to Killswitch, ATR(love the instrumentals from them), and disturbed. Been really liking the groups with female vocalists recently - Halestorm, Lacuna Coil, etc.

Also the 90s rock, Alt, and Grunge - Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Slightly Stoopid(awesome stuff), Mighty Mighty Bosstones, etc.

And also the late 90s early 2ks punk(I guess) - Ignite, Bad Religion, etc.

Classic Rock all the way: Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, Rolling Stones, etc.

I do like some metal though and hard rock.
Is Nirvana considered classic now? I grew up with them on the radio a lot it seems like. Man I feel old.

My two main XM stations are Lithium and Octane.

Haha, yeah their making the transition there. They get played a good bit on the rock station and the classic rock station in my area. I've only gotten the chance to listen to those 2 stations once on an airplane and they were great! They played a ton of the bands that I like, but some of the songs that never get played a lot.
