Good Afternoon Everyone!

So I recently obtained a Snow Wolf M99 Barrett (bolt action version) from a trade that was damn near a scam until I turned it in my favor (if you want details on that pm me).

To keep the story short the Barrett has an issue where the trigger does not fire the weapon, but rather when you wish to fire you need to move the safety to the safe position and then back into fire, and when you do this the gun fires.

On other forums I read about removing the safety mechanism all together, but I tried that and all that happened was the rifle would slam fire rather than actually cock.

I was wondering if any of you had experience with an M99 or have had this problem with any other bolt action in the past?

Any advice would be great!

Thanks!

The gun is completely stock. I got it out of a trade, and I have opened it up and tried to find the problem but its 100% stock. The piston doesn't seem worn, and I figured if that were the case it wouldn't lock the bolt back, but I could be wrong.

Do you have any suggestions of what to look for when I open her up again?

Thanks!

Hahaha, nah, I made the trade knowing something was wrong. I still came out on top since other things were thrown into the deal. My local shop may just give me a free trigger box. Either that or they are going to find a way to fix it for free. I cannot see anything wrong with it... It isn't showing any of the normal signs of wear...

It's a lot less steady of a firing platform this way. The safety being on the bolt means that I cannot support the weapon properly and keep a proper cheek weld when firing if I use it in its current shape. Especially not with a weapon this large.
