I got interested earlier and started looking at the sr47 conversion kit. What if you turned that into a dmr. As in a jp rifles barrel and flash hider possibly the handguard as well. Then use ak short mags. It'll be lower profile then the std m4 and yet it would almost be guaranteed that your gun is one of a kind. Thoughts?

Dang, just checked the sr47 conversion kit and it looks totally badass, go for it only if you go to some professional painter to paint it shiny gold and upload pictures.
Ps. Even if you dont paint it, get it anyway.
I see my DMR build has influenced you haha. And that kit looks great i would also say go for it. But whatever please do not paint it gold, this isn't call of duty!
Haha it was a combination. I read the dmr post and was looking at the sr kit already. I have done a ground build dmr already though. If only I could find the kit in stock somewhere.
I understand, i searched all over the internet for you and could not find one in stock anywhere, I heard they had been discontinued. Good luck though!
Yeah that is what it looks like. There is a evike custom gun though which is available. Way to expensive but its there.
I would imagine it is expensive as the kit costs over $500 by itself haha
Yeah they want a grand total. 500 for internals is stupid ridiculous.
The kits were discontinued years back. HurricanE tends to run limited runs of kits for more rare/obscure RS guns. I actually bought a kit probably 3-4 years ago now. Still have in on my gun wall.

Now I'm jealous. Moreover I want. :l
It looks like an AR platform with a modified mag well to fit an AK mag to me. Is all this just to run a v3 gearbox in a AR receiveer? I don't get it.
It uses a v2 gearbox. It is just a very rare body style. Real steel and airsoft alike.

The JP Rifle handgaurd is an absolute mess of a design and that's just besides the point.

The idea behind the SR47 was to have the versatile design of an M4, while being able to pick up and use enemy mags/ammo from the battlefield.
Can't get used to the look in the picture, but I'm sure with a bit of work it would be awesome and something different than the usual, I say go for it!
