Would somthing along the lines of Raffia be a good, cheap substitute to this expensive ''Stalk Grass"?

If I bought raffia naturally colored, I could dye/spraypaint it to my liking and probably save a decent ammount of money.

It's funny that you post this, I was just about to come ask something along these lines. But I actually am using some of that rafia on my rifle right now. I have the naturally colored tan, but as you mentioned, some dye or spray paint can easily change that.

From what I found out, the stalk grass is way more durable and is meant to be more permanent. Your rifle looks great, Im probably gonna do the same but with some jute.

(That bush in the background looks cool, like a green and tan feather duster. XD)

yarn works pretty well ... thats what i use
