Stalker Scorpion + Action Army Teflon Cylinder

Recently received a Stalker Scorpon VSR piston from Skirmshop. Using the Action Army Teflon Cylinder and getting no zero air seal from the piston cup. Piston just slams into the nozzle. I’ve inquired politely on Stalkers Facebook page several times and the post is quickly deleted. Has anyone else had this same air seal issue with the Stalker Scorpion and Action Army cylinder? Is there a fix?

Skirmshop is sketchy these days, they're not very helpful and are acting very WW2 sorta like the country they're in by silencing stuff like yours.

The issue here is likely that the piston seal is undersized for the AA cylinder which is supposed to be EXACT TM spec, while many cylinders like PDI, Lambda, Novritsch, maybe EdGi?, and countless others will vary somewhat. Not really a thing you can control.... Oh wait, the WASP was supplied with two sizes of guides and the seal cup was compatible with most everything around.

My recommendation is to start a return of the product, or even file one through your bank if they're not being helpful, as best case you get a new seal, and worst case you buy a Masada piston on Etsy for less money that is likely better.
I may check out the Masada piston as the nub-arm for the AA hop chamber has been the only thing that has gotten my VSR shooting consistently (that and barrel shims). I was really aiming for an airbrake piston as it is eerie quiet where we play and silence is everything. Looks like Masada overly engineered it specifically for the best air seal. Can the Masada piston be made as quiet as an airbrake piston?

Interesting you mentioned the PDI cylinder as I just snatched one up since Evike’s description is “Internal Diameter of 22mm matches the original stock TM cylinder” (and the AA cylinder description does not). If that doesn’t seal, I’ll be filing returns for everything or slinging it all on eBay.
I'm not a super big believer in air brakes as I think that they only make sense if you're running a barrel that is too short, so if your piston weight, barrel length/bore, and spring are all somewhat balanced you won't gain anything from using an air brake. They only really make a difference with those 300mm guys and their "joule creep" thinking they're getting free energy, but can't or won't explain how exactly when they're getting los power on an M190.

I'm not saying that undersize cylinders are bad as at least half the time they have thicker walls which is good, but I'm much more irritated with piston sellers not stating the minimum and maximum size they'll accept, or even better, and exhaustive list of the cylinders most people will be using.

Don't try on eBay, you'll lose 18% just to their fee, maybe more to shipping, and people won't want to pay that much on top of that. I'd return immediately and use the Masada setup with the PDI cylinder as that'll be just about the best you can buy right now.

The Masada piston should get just as quiet. It's intention is to be maximally efficient, therefore potentially allowing the use of lighter springs, making the rifle quieter. I gained about .4J in my ssg10 using one. I'd grab one of his cylinder heads too if you can. They have a wide bore and damper for efficiency and loudness.
