I was thinking about getting the Star M14 EBR (as says the title ;)) and I was wondering if there was a better gun for the money. My spending limit is $270 and I would prefer to stay lower for the upgrades. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Not to rain on your parade... but the last time I checked Star's M14's ran around $400+....

you are probably looking at Kart, AGM or Cyma for that price..

No I was looking around and I found on uncompanies website that very gun for considerably lower price. Also because of their recent mixup with ARES, they now are selling them for considerably lower. I found a Star SL9 for $279.99 on Uncompany as well.

Oh yeah right, its in Hong Kong I think and thats a fair ways away.
Yeah shipping will be around 150 or more.. For that heavy of a rifle. Try looking around here in the states, if you are here in the US that is. Shipping will be far less.
ok just went to uncompany to try and find your deals... and had zero luck.

the SL9 is under $300 but it is out of stock.
the SL8 is $320 in stock

but every other M14 is $420 - $460 before shipping...

future TIP...
If you ever see that kind of deal again just buy the gun... those deals dont last long and neither does stock

Yeah Oh well maybe I'll have better luck next time.

Edit: I looked on e hobby asia and found the SOPMOD version for 249.99 don't know what the difference is but yeah and its probably still gonna cost an arm and a leg shipping

SOPMODs are shorter again than an 18" SOCOM EBR in both barrel and stock. IIRC they use a 16" and the chassis is quite abit different aswell. Ideal for CQB sniping ;)

Thanks man that answers a lot of questions.
