This just occurred to me: With the huge mechanical differences between an airsoft rifle and a real steel one, why aren't there more straight bolt rifles out there on the airsoft market? I realize that a lot of the value of a gun is how well it replicates the design and function of its real steel counterpart, but you would think that with the ease of use and ergonomic nature of a straight pull bolt they'd be a bit more common, if not easier to come by.

Heck, is the difference between a straight pull and a standard pull bolt even enough to cater to that sector at all?

Worst, don't suppose you can give a link to a guide for this or explain how here can you? Sounds like an interesting concept. Now I have to find out what the difference between the two bolt pulls are :/.

So with a straight pull you basically don't have to pull up the handle before you pull it back? I would think a straight pull is bad then because if you acciedentally bump the handle into something you will double feed the bbs.

I haven't tried to make it, but should work like that, by taking this thing off (that's next to my finger).

And then you should be able to shoot when the bolt is up and down position, and you can pull it straight if you take the material off from it's path. Some kind of stopper that would make the bolt not to move by itself would be necessary, though.
