Suppressor question.

2464 Views 16 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  inthetallgrass
So I was interested in getting a G-spec to beable to strap onto my pack, but was wondering something. If I had a 6.01 inner barrel in the rifle, would having a 6.03 barrel in a removable suppressor increase the accuracy at all, or if it would be useless? I figured it would but only if the barrels were lined up perfectly, but I wanted some insight into this.

Take a look at the thread going right now that talks about "end of barrel hop up" there is a discussion in there that might help. Also research the "Falcon Barrel". So to answer your questoin, it could help.
You mean having a suppressor with an ID of 6.03 and an inner barrel of 6.01? Most suppressors are just hollow cans.

I think there is a definite possibility and end of barrel device will work for sure, what that devise is I am unclear on. I am working on a different set of problems. I will likely work on that next for my gun design, a 2 stage barrel I am calling it.
Firstly I would have a 6.04 to begin with and just that until a better or custom system is developed.
Would probably worsen you Accuracy. The chances of getting it lined up perfect are damn near impossible.

yeah. Unless your beck with a custom made gun. Also I meant 6.03 in my previous post.
Even then, you would be better off just running a TBB through the suppressor, which takes about 30 seconds to drill out. I only use a 303mm IB in case I had to take the suppressor off, I wouldnt have a barrel sticking out of the end of my gun

The reason I wanted it removable is so, like I said in my first post, have it strapped to the side of my pack and not have it be catching all the trees and such.

then you just better off buying a 303mm 6.03, the normal size for the gun.
I was just wondering if it would do anything other then look cool. I may just get a suppressor and try it on my current rifle.
Mine takes the crack of the muzzle report, quieting it a bit. It's foam filled.
I was talking about the 2nd barrel. ;)

It generally doesn't change the decibel measure but merely changes the sound to a poof.

Pretty much. Its just seems quieter, though i doubt it is.

Its funny because I did read the guide, but i had done almost all of it already. Great minds think alike I guess.

As for the second barrel idea, I know it looks good on paper, but it would be VERY hard to actually do.

Well actually the y&p mk23 silencer has a very wide inner barrel in it. It increases fps by at least 70.
