About the gun: I have added the rails to mount bipods and all kinds of cool stuff to it but right now there's nothing on it, atm Im using my DIY bipods as you can see from the pictures

Internal mods: I have a piston with bearings and double O-rings, a steel piston catch, Element (65) hopup rubber, a madbull black python tbb and I have made it 100% airtight. Right now it has a VSR-10 type of M190 spring witch has been cut down a little to make it fit. I also have put a little screw in to the trigger box so I can adjust the sensitivity of the trigger
In the future I will be modifying the spring guide to a V2 ball bearing spring guide and im going to add long rails on top and bottom of the handguard. And ofcourse there will be an SVDS style foldable stock.

...I like it. The bipod in the first picture looks pretty good on it too. But I wouldn't put a rail ontop of the handguard though, that'd ruin it I think. Good job!

you may be right about the top rail, Im thinking to put a harris-style bipod on it but right now all my money is being saved for an m14 EBR..

It's nice but I don't like the rails... and basically you don't need them besides the bottom one.
I'd say search for an SVD bipod... and ditch this one.

What scope mount did you use and did you have any problems zeroing your scope. I might get some money get a mount and a scope for my svd.

I think it should work but i recommend you send email about it to the shop because I haven't personally owned one so I cant be sure.

No it won't work. The SVD has a different side rail than all the other AK's. A POSP Scope that has an SVD mount will not fit a normal AK, just as a POSP or KOBRA with an AK mount will not fit an SVD.

Go with the one that suomijorma posted if you want a regular rail rather than a POSP.

Actually it can. The Ak side rail mount can work for the SVD just depends on the company. Come on look at the picture he is already using a Ak side mount. The one suomi posted is a AK side rail mount. Look at his picture and mine they are exactly the same.
By the way please get your facts right.

Nelson is right about some scope mounts that can accept either SVD or AK side rails (We're all family here, it's all good). I have one on my SVD-S--right here

--and I don't like it very much. Aside from breaking the traditional POSP/PSO look, it's not very ergo (sharp rails, which is why the rail cover is there), is high, and just looks fugly. Did I mention it looks fugly? Well it works for airsoft, and I don't necessarily need a real scope.

OT: The best thing I like about your SVD is the little strip of rail underneath the handguard. If you attached a grip, or replaced the rails with a grip, you could start building an SVU. Of course, bolt pull is gonna be a bitch. But hey, the PAS kit is out there for a reason. If you ever decide to go bullpup, I fully support you.

Thanks Blue. Why a rail cover. Put a laser thats what I do. Or use the most dangerous weapon in BF3 the flashlight. I know I had to put it in. I know with the Posp the gun looks like crap with the rail mount. But hey not everyone here is a rich. Also wasn`t the PAS kit discontuined I can`t find in stock anywhere.

Completely disregarding your last sentence, I'll say this:

The scope mount you linked and the one that he has are NOT exactly the same. If someone tries to help, don't insult them. In my experience with both RS and my AtoZ, I found that mounts meant for the RMP-3 rail (ak-74) did not fit on the SVD rail without some form of modification. The Dragunov mount will fit on a RMP-3, but will not lock down due to the pin used to hold it in position.

These "screw on rails" fit better because they are exactly that. They use the friction from the set screws to keep the mount in place.

So, excuse me if my facts may not seem "straight" to you, but maybe you're the one who needs to get theirs straightened.

Just a bit of info for anybody looking into a Romanian PSL scope for the A&K SVD.

The rail has to be severely filed down with a triangular file to get it to fit. Took me about 30 minutes to modify mine. Once you do that, the scope works perfectly.

Isnt it a little hard to use the romanian scope since they use some kind of radioactive material (Tritium if I remember correctly) to illuminate the scope, I mean if it has expired?

I can't remember what it is but I don't think it's tritium. They all use nitrogen filled scopes though.

It is tritium that illuminates the Romanian scopes. Most likely its expired by now
