Hi all,
After a few years of owning my SRS A2 I've decided to try another build and planning to pick up a TAC 41.
I still haven't seen a ton of set up/build videos online.
Anyone who owns one here, what's your current set up and what are your ranging (flatish trajectory)? Also post some pics of your gun :)

The Tac41 is still rather young, and it's somewhat limited on parts and availability. I know a lot of people are currently frustrated with the "one way trip" hop up bucking... 95% guarantee that when you try to remove the bucking, you'll end up shredding it. Not very helpful either when the Stock Barrels are proprietary to their proprietary "Not-Quite-AEG-Bucking" buckings.

With all that said.. Basically, most people are running them stock, with the exception of swapping out the springs, maybe getting a different barrel that will let them use different buckings.

...Most people.

*First guy to get the SDiK. Also first to route it through the grip, rather than half an inch in front of the trigger....

If you'd like, we've got a couple of Facebook Groups for the Tac41, the Owners Group and some other Owners Group.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
I'm used to the bucking tearing on my SRS due to the tolerances of the hop units so it won't deter me but it is a frustration for sure.
It does seem that these shoot better out the box than the SRS did.
I'd prob change the spring to bring it up to the required fps and chuck in a faceless bucking and r hop patch as that worked well for me on my srs to start then will look into pistons to silence the gun a bit.
I see people using the chub nub too, any others people have recommended?

One question I had was I'd like to go to the smaller outer/inner barrel, think its 330mm or something (could be wrong)
Will the bb hit its max velocity on a barrel that short? I guess weight of bb will come into that.
How's the SDik, I like hpa but not fancied it on a sniper as I just feel It takes away part of that bolt action feeling but I get why people opt for it.
I'm not on Facebook but appreciate the invite

Hey Sodium, good to know! Would there be much if any gain in distance by opting for a 510 over the 420mm barrel?
The main issue is FPS. A short barrel will not utililize the tac-41s large cylinder, so lots of extra air will get blown out. I'm not sure whats ideal though. My calculations show that for the most efficient barrel setup, you should pick a 420mm for .48g bbs. It's the perfect barrel ratio for .48g bbs.

You won't gain much if any energy from the 510 over the 420 with .48s, but you will with .45 or lower.

I think im right in saying it comes with the 510 barrel so might have to do some testing and see as I have a bag of .45's at the mo.
I do like the idea of the slightly smaller barrel though so can see me going to the 420 on .48's if the difference between the two is that small.
Thanks for the input BTW 👍
