  • How easy is it to setup?
-Flip a switch, hold your finger over the speaker so it is muffled during the first inevitable beep while it enters standby mode. Place on ground, pointed toward potential enemies. Wait 15 seconds and it is "live".

  • What are the technology's limitations?
-Indoors, the thermal sensor will not fail.
-Outdoors, there are factors that could make detection not 100%. If the sensor is placed in direct sunlight and the sun shifts, it could create a false beep. Also if it is a very hot day, 90 degree+ (close to human skin temp of 91 degrees), the detection will be more problematic. This is the nature of any thermal system however.
-Testing has shown that wind itself no matter how strong does not set off the device. However, if wind is strong enough that tree branches are blowing around "wildly", then the device will go off.

  • Can I change the detection shape?
-The lens can be modified easily to suit your needs. If you need a "laser" tripwire type detection, rather than the large area that the device detects out of the box, you can change to this or other configurations. A piece of electrical tape with a hole about 4mm in it that is placed perfectly centered over the thermal dome lens will make a laser line type detection mode. Sharpie marker will not work for this type of restriction.

  • Is it available in any other colors?
-The device pictured is in blue, but all production parts will be a forest green to blend better into environments. The device can be painted with camo patterns if further camo is desired (similar to painting a rifle camo).

  • How long do the AAA batteries last?
-The device draws very very little power while in standby mode. The audio beeper is what takes the most power. AAA batteries have about 800 mah typically. Assuming the beeper draws 10mah (it draws much less than this), and the device detects motion 100% of the time, you would have about 80 hours of buzzing time. If the device was "looking" for enemies on a full charge (standby mode), it would operate for years without running out of power. The actual number will be in between of course, dependent on how much beeping the device is doing. It is safe to say you should be able to use the device on quality batteries for at least an entire airsoft season of play.
