This is a detailed guide for breaking down a 29 round magazine. I will do my best to accurately describe the steps.
The Magazine...
Tools I used...
Simple Green and water (This is not necessary, I like to degrease and clean everything.)
Slide the bottom plate off the magazine... (Mine has a hole because it's tapped for a HPA rig)
Using a punch or a Allen wrench push out the retaining pin...
Slide outer housing off the body...
Using a Allen wrench, unscrew the spring retainer. (Hold it with you finger while your remove the screw, if you don't it will fly off.)
Take the spring and follower out. (Follower not pictured)
Next unscrew the BB holder off the body...
Remove the o-ring...
Unscrew the two gas cylinders...
Remove retaining pin for the knock lever...
Unscrew the four screws holding the back plate on...
Gently prey it off...
Gently remove the rubber o-ring...
Using a flat head screw driver, unscrew the brass retainer. Be very careful not to mar the metal...
Remove the o-ring from the retainer. Please be gentle with all o-rings!
Next part is a little tricky. This pieces will get seized up. I had to take a pair of needle-nose pliers, insert them in the notch and pop it out. Take your time here...
This o-ring is not fun getting off, not necessary in my opinion...
Stripped block..
All this from one mag..... Really?
Reassembly in next post.
Cheers!
