I would imagine the hardest part will be modifying the magwell to take the Tanaka mags. I supposed you could just modify it to house the Tanaka trigger guard/magwell. I'm currently modifying a real steel Remington box mag to fit in my CA M24 and based on that I can tell you that even high end replicas aren't the same size/spec as real steel parts. It shouldn't be too hard to tap and drill your own holes to mount the receiver/barrel.
