Tanaka M700 AICS Questions

2008 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  mopedman
I have a couple of questions about the Tanaka M700 AICS.

First is the hop up bucking really square? If so were can I buy replacements?

What kind of tight bore do you guys think I should get and from were?

Is there any other upgrades you guys would recomend?

Any input would be helpful. I am new to the gas bolt action world.

Upgrade-wise, you'd probably do well to convert the hop up chamber to a VSR style one using the King Arms/2Roy parts. It'll allow you to take some really nice VSR style buckings. Tightbore? I'm pretty sure if you have the money most people would recommend an EDGI.
And as for other upgrades...if you're willing, and you really really want to push your accuracy, it's time to start thinking about an external rig!
That will all run you...hmmmm...about $200 for the TBB, bucking, and conversion, plus the rig if you want it, so if that's a little over your budget let us know so we can post you some alternatives.

EDIT: BTW I work with KJW M700s, very similar but some subtle differences, so take my words with a grain of salt!
With the VSR hop up I would then need a VSR tight bore?

What are the advantages to the kings arms hop up? I get to use better buckings?

Also with the external air sorce, what are the advantages to external air?

Sorry for all the questions I am new to the gas rifle world.
1. Yes
2. Yes, which would then lead to better groupings.
3. Less cool down, More consistent, and you get more shots.
Thank you for the info. I think I am going to buy the King Arms hop up, the EDGI tight bore, and FF hop up bucking. Will see how that dose.
