Co2 is fine as long as you have a good regulator for it. Though you will suffer if you play in a place that gets cold.

HPA while more expensive and a little harder to fill, suffers from none of Co2's flaws.

I used co2 for a while, I still use it from time to time.
HPA is generally better; it rarely suffers from pressure drop. The downside is refilling the tank is difficult for me since a station is 2 hours away, and that you are attached to the gun.
The line never bothered me, and neither did the tank.

I use co2 when I run out of HPA, and when I want to run super light (aka no tank)
...oh yeah, I only run "super light" in the summer time for a reason...

CO2 still drops pressure a little over temperature. Hot weather loves CO2...

Here is a question I hope someone can answer.

What is the best length for an HPA rifle such as this? I know most people will automatically say 455 mm but since we don't have to balance cylinder volume to barrel volume what would be the optimal length?

The best length at this point would be what size you want. Seeing as you can adjust the amount of air entering the barrel. It will mostly have to do with how your system performs.

The standard length (650mm) is insane for HPA. You want power? Get the Lonex 750mm barrel and turn up to 200 PSI. Much fun. It is also quieter than a short barrel, since you don't need as much pressure to propell the projectile to the wanted velocity. Yeah, increased length, but your choice.

Heyo, Bobcat. This is kinda off-topic, but how do you think the standard barrel would work with HPA/Regulated C02? I'm planning to use it for a semi-widebore effect. I understand that it is 6.10mm in diameter? What would your best guess be on it's effectiveness? Would it simply be too thin for a true widebore effect?

I personally don't give in to the whole wide bore thing, because the air would never be perfectly distributed 360 degrees around the bb. This is just because the bb never sits perfectly in the middle.

I still used the stock barrel for quite a while since my intervention with Angel Custom and the 6.01 barrel I was using... I had better performance from the stock barrel. Not sure if it was because of the bore or the barrel quality. I'm sure a higher quality 6.10 would be better than the stock one for sure.

Everyone gives KJ hate for their massive barrel, but hey, maybe they are on to something. Everything has a reason, right?

I went back to an AirsoftGI 6.01 after I cut my barrel shorter... No change what so ever.

Thank you very much for this guide buddy! I had a Kjw m700 a few years ago and loved it, but the co2 rig build was a headache!! I had no clue what to get, and where to get the parts. This is extremely helpful! I have another Kjw on its way to me now, and this is gonna save me lots of money on asperine haha..:tup:

I know you put in certain parts i was curious what your thoughts on these parts are FALCON 6.03 Precision Inner Barrel Set for KJW M700 if you arent a fan of it could you perphaps link me to a good barrel that would be around 630mm-640mm and a barrel with a internal diamater of 6.03 please i shimmed my mag with cardboard so its a good tight fit now and fitted a over barrel Suppressor with a old 14mm ccw suppresor i made it grip the barrel using duct tape on the inside for friction and it doesnt shake or wobble at all All thats left to do it barrel and hop unit and hop bucking. Whats your opinion am i better off flat hopping my Rifle or using a double point hop rubber as shown in this package? My KJW M700 is also running brilliantly on co2 so you have my thanks for that crackin guide I had problems finding PDI barrels at 630mm same as the stock one and dont really have the money to pay for a Fluted Barrel.

There are not any HPA tanks that small. Unless you plan on making a custom stock just for that.

Meh, anything that small will be more headaches then what it is worth. Sure IF there were tanks that small they would be like what 1 maybe 3 CI tops. Plus you would not be able to use standard tank regs and connection equipment. That would wind up being custom which would increase the cost and make your life adapting it a pain.

I considered this for a while, but the initial investment into getting small tanks like that is pretty high. If I were building full rifles that would be a different story, it would take after the m870 I guess.

End of the day, too little air to be truly effective for an event, maybe a weekend if you shoot sparingly. But for a good scenario, no way. Sure you could carry more tanks with you, but is all the extra crap really worth the benefit of such a setup? To me, no. Not when you can use a proper remote hose, proper tank arrangement, and a little bit of ingenuity on modding your gear to work the way you want it to.

Forgive me if this has been answered, I promise I've read the whole thread.
On a HPA rig is it possible to run a macroline from the mag to the stock, which houses the regulator, and then run a coil from the rear of the stock to a tank on your belt/in your bag?

If it is possible, can someone direct me to the correct adaptor on Palmers please?

I shouldn't have to quote the original post, but I know its there. In the top theres a section labeled "CO2 in the Stock" or something. It covers everything. I think its worth a read...

So let me get this straight... You want to run a external air tank (I.E a 68/4500) on your back and run that to a reg in the stock which is connected to the magazine. Right?

And then you'll need a fitting to connect the other end (with the QD) to your regulator's "input".
