I've had a concept that I've been intending to try for a while. We know that the TK Twist Barrels are famous for their accuracy at lowish velocities (310 fps). Now what if you used a heavier bb with a higher velocity? It would lower the velocity to the appropriate range where the bb would again be affected by the twist. Now, looking around, I've seen some doubts that this will work. My question: has anybody actually tried it? I had a friend that told me he tried it, and it did work, but he says a lot of things.

I'm not experienced with TKT barrels, but I don't think it would be good as it's on lower velocity with lighter bbs, as the higher air pressure can ruin the air cushion no matter the bb weight.

They aren't designed for a fps range. They're designed for a KE range.

I've heard somewhere that TK twist barrels work well either below 350 fps or above 500 fps, but not in between the two power levels.

It's all about air volume. The V2.5 gearboxes can run TKT barrels at up to about 450 fps, BASRs a little bit more. I can run a TKT in my p* at any velocity I choose - I just have to increase my poppet dwell.

It's pretty good - they don't much like ER-hops though. R-hops, fine, but ER-hops are not quite as pretty.

I would rather have an ER-hop than a TKT effect.

You mean the sr-25 GB's with the extra long cylinder?

And didn't the Tanio Koba 10/22's come with a TKT barrel?
