I don't know a lot about spring snipers so I need some help on this one. I'm getting a Tm vsr pro and I need help on what upgrade to choose. This is what I have so far:
I would stay away from Action army honestly if hated than the spring guide you have, it should be sufficient. Use the budget you have now for the top priority upgrades and buy the rest as you go.
I'd get a PDI barrel, firefly hard bucking, and dangerwerx type B arm for starters. Then TDC your barrel and shim the arm. Spend lots of time here tuning and securing. Also make a few barrel spacers which will help as well.
Then, you can do home mods to increase performance until you have time to buy other quality parts. I recommend going PDI with the exception of the trigger and piston. In the case of the trigger, I recommend you look up the S-trigger on this forum and order one from him.
That just leaves the cylinder and cylinder head. You can polish the cylinder to a shine which will help you, and you can either look up making a homemade concave cylinder head, or buy one.
Also, be careful mixing brands of parts. Some things won't mix well with others. Like Laylax as PDI.

It is a good bucking but it's not very hard. And a m150 would be 150 meters per second, which is roughly 450 feet per second. Since action army is a clone of Laylax iirc, and the piston is Laylax, in order to have no fitment issues, get a Laylax spring.
My PDI cylinder head was great. Look on Airsoft Atlanta. You will find most of your parts on there.
Save yourself a lot of money and get a Jong Gong then upgrade the crap out of it Product Details
The JG also comes with the scope rail, scope and budget sling that can be reinforced to be strong.
Action Army are good. I highly recommend them.
One of the first things I would get is a 90 degree trigger. This will make your gun reliable. Once you have that and a big spring you can make a stock standard Bar10 fire ultra far especially once you do a few home made mods like TDC.
I only quickly read through this thread, but an SP150 spring put me at well over 500 fps. I had to cut that baby down several times to get it to 465 fps...So keep that in mind.
And tonne is on the money. Keep in mind you want 90 degree unit with a quality piston. The Action Army piston (blue one for VSR, NOT THE ORANGE), is outstanding! Highly recommended over the laylax.
Also, I always run a soft bucking. TM buckings are rare so if you have one use it. But I run a firefly soft bucking and love it more than any other I have used before...Add a dangerwerx hop up arm and you are in business.
Also, I run a laylax trigger unit with Action Army piston, and Laylax spring guide, and laylax teflon cylinder. Works great with no issues. Just so you are aware of the flexibility.
Why do people always need to someone else to tell them what fps, they get out of a spring?
Springs vary in strength. Some are right on the money, and some are stronger the there rating.
When you got a spring conforming to the M standard, think M as meters per sec(ms or m/s).
With that in mind just use a online tool like this one: Convert fps to m/s - Conversion of Measurement Units
As I said, some springs are stronger then there rating, usually about 10ms, so add 10ms to the conversion, and you should be on the safe side.
Also remember that springs tend to become weaker over time, so that 10ms extra performance is automatically reduced, but by how much is unknown, as the quality from manufacturer to manufacturer vary.
i wouldn't use a 6.01 barrel because the BB's carry is greatly reduced but it does increase fps. I would use a 455mm 6.05 barrel(430mm stock length is good too).
I would also use a r-hop for the hop up rubber.
Use plumbers tape on all the threads that seal air.
The barrel, spring and the hop up are the most important parts. Make sure you spend the most time and effort on these. There is a perfect ratio between barrel length, spring and BB weight. Also don't buy crap parts from 10 different manufactures... try to use as many parts from the same company as possible. Save your money and buy smart. Look at aisrsoftatlanta.com
Just a quick note about a PDI cylinder kit I got… The cylinder head is too thing to push the loading stopper up in time to load bbs… Mine will not feed, even after doing 1Tonne's heat shrink trick and even his non crack nail polish…
hm... all good info. Still pondering on ideas 4 parts doe.
(thats right, i know big words m8)
