Glad you found it helpful, and no I do not think this is stickied.

I did the total disassembly to make sure there was room and I wasn't hitting the spring. But you are right, no need to disassemble. May write that note in the original post, if I get around to it. 😃

It may be worthwhile to disassemble the mags to check the spring... I'm never confident that I get exactly 30 in the mag.

What I've done is put industrial strength Velcro on the bottom of the mag. I use the 'hook' side, the harder side. Then I make a loop of paracord and attach a piece of loop-side (soft) Velcro to the loop, either just by wrapping it around or by putting it on something else.

It's not as elegant, but it gives you the flexibility of using the Velcro to attach a mag to a pouch or to the stock. It is best to have the loop side on the stock, because the hook side will attach to any fuzzy material; that's why I put the hooks on the mag.

You can use the paracord or the shape of the Velcro to give some tactile feedback for your mags, so you can tell which is which. Example: 1 knot = white bbs, 2 knots = black bbs. I have one smooth mag and one with vinyl fake leather stuck on, so i can tell which is which.

Only just saw this. This is an awesome guide.
RKS: Love the idea of velcro, as it makes it more versatile. Personally, however I think I'm gonna have to experiment with velcro and the paracord mod to see which works best for me

I just did this mod, I used a 5mm hole to make it a bit easier to get the paracord through, my only real issue was putting it back together it took a while to get the knack for it.

The way I threaded it I tied the knots to go through the inside of the mag so it is cleaner on the outside

I have done this modd allready a few times on the 55 rounds mag and they are easy to take appart as you can get the spring out before disasembling. With the 30 rounds mag this is more difficult, but i found a really easy way. I based my knowledge on well mag's.

Open it up carfully (springs tend to julp out) see that you collect all the pieces.

Drill the holes from the inside to the outside (so that you don't damage the internals), remove the drill waste, get the paracord through.

Install the spring guide (i glued it in, but don't think it is needed) and close the mag. Take the spring and feed in from the top.

Add the bb pusher (there are two theeth that guide the pusher in the mag, in the picture on the right)

depending on if you put these theeth to the right or left side of the mag will determ how far the pusher comes out. I placed them to the left which means it came out further (you can see the side that will allow this when the mag is open) this will block my nozle when the mag is empty ensuring i don't dryfire at a target.

Once the pusher is in place take the lock mechanism (you can atatch the small springs to this element up front)

and push it with the right side up into the opening.

Now with a screwdriver push down the bb pusher and push the lock mechanism in place. Voila asembled without any problem.

I had problems wearing gloves and taking my magazines out the other day it was about 30 degrees outside, without my gloves its pretty simple.

Would a simple hot glue and a bit of paracord on the end work good enough? :hehe: not sure how long it will hold.

Hot glue on plastic just does not work well. But even with super glue, think about how hard you have to pull on the mag to get it out. For me at least, super glue would just not cut it. Hasn't been a big enough issue for me make this mod though. Plus this mod makes it impossible to fit vsr mags in my MOLLE pistol pouch.

Ill keep you posted as how long it lasts me. You could buy an admin pouch for your PC and keep your vsr magazines in there. It's a very light tug my tm vsr magazines are easy to pull out. I think if I don't abuse the strings it will work for a while.

The MOLLE pouch attaches to my cheek rest. Only bring two 50 rd AA mags with me. More ammo then I'll ever need in a round. Besides I live in SoCal so it never gets too cold. Taking out the mags has never hindered me enough to warrant the change. I hope your hot glue mod works!
