I meant just length down the outer barrel,

you are correct that fps and bb weight change the traditional volume ratios. I have a stock type 96 pushing 610 and it is way to much air and turbulence comeing out the barrel with the exact same internals on another I have a 590 MM barrel and it is perfect. From my experience a 590 mm barrel with pdi type 96 internals pushing 600 fps is the perfect combination.

Very interesting :)

Shooting 610fps >:D What gun and spring were you using out of curiosity?

I've read in other forums that porting was inconclusive in terms of positive performance. Is there a significant change in accuracy on your part?

I forget the url link, but I think on the same page someone mentioned a barrel that was drilled in a spiral fashion along the length of the barrel (similar to real silencer designs) to "silence" the gun. Just throwing my find out there :D

I'll look for the link soon.
It is a well mb08 with a pdi 170sp
