Umarex Licensed H&K 416 or 417 AEG?

Can someone educate me why I don't see Umarex HK417 AEG state side? (whereas they all seem to be HK416)
I'm not a real steel person so I don't know the difference between the HK416 and HK417... so maybe my question is moot?

Basically HK416 is 5.56 and 417 is 7.62 NATO. Pardon me but I don't quite get what do you mean by state side, can you please elaborate?

Umarex also sells HK417 AEG, which is made by VFC. They utilise different gearbox though, but roughly 90% parts are the same V2 internals
He means like available in the USA.

This might be cool, about $40 shipping

Available here for $600 plus more shipping, or Airsofttiger if you wanna do $266 shipping lmao.

I think that maybe they were limited edition, that seems to be how HK stuff is from VFC
Yes, I mean availability as siliconesword stated
I've only ever seen HK416 and not the HK417 stateside (United "states" of america - we sometimes phrase it as stateside)

It's out of stock, but I saw it on redwolf for440 for a time. But I been out of the loop from airsoft for a year
It may be something to do with how the licensing works. Either that or everyone just knows/want the 416 so that's what they ship over.
Could ask a trusted store that stocks umarex they may be willing to order one in for you. (Local store's tend to be more willing too rather than online retailers)
@Leo Greer @RonSwanson

I don't have a preference or lean...other than since HK417 is more rare state side, I'll get that (If I were to get one)
Ultimately I don't know the difference between them...like is one the civilian and other is military?
The 417 is in .308 vs the 416 being in 5.56, so it's DMR vs heavy as balls assault rifle.

Maybe look for a G28?
That's pretty much a 417 but in a sick 50 shades of tan look.
I'm still talking strictly AEG airsoft. I wasn't about to get a real steel version of them
More wanted to know why the difference in access to the HK416 and HK417
Np, thought you meant like general differences.
Not a clue, but maybe they thought that the 417 wouldn't sell nearly as well

416 or 417, they do still shoot bbs, the difference that you'd find is 417's dont use M4 Mags, they use proprietary mags.

This also results in a less popular gun - it dosent use the mags everyone has, and lots of people dont want to buy new mags. So plop this fact ontop of the fact that its just a chronically under-manufactured gun, and you get a rare gun.

@Stove

Wow that's really good to know
I thought the mag looked a little off...but I thought maybe it was a stubby mag
