Hey guys, I will be purchasing an M82 very soon, and I'd like some insight with what upgrades to purchase. I have a general idea on what parts I need/want, but I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to what brands to buy, so I'd like some assistance with that. Below is a list of all the parts I want/need upgraded.

Upgrades:

Gearbox (from what I hear, the Snow Wolf gearbox is basically pot metal, was thinking of getting a Guarder shell)
Gears (at minimum an 18:1 ratio, probably SHS)
Bore-up Kit (BAAL M16 Bore-Up Kit, as the gun comes with a 650mm inner barrel)
Sorbopad (1/4", 70 Hardness, specifically for Bore-Up)
Spring (M120, most likely prometheus)
Barrel (Madbull 6.03 650mm or Miracle Barrel, as I have no way of R-hopping a barrel)
High-torque motor (was thinking of just an Echo 1, don't feel like I need anything more)
Hop-up (either the Madbull or the Modify, currently have a hop arm with a flat-hop nub, so might transfer it to the Modify hop)

Try to get a minimum of 22 tpa motor.mi recommend zci high torque.
Also remember mad bull barrels have Teflon coating so eventually that starts flaking.

From what I understand (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) but this barrett is made by JG.... The gearbox shell is probably okay, I would just radius the cylinder window corners as v2's are all known to break in those sections.

SHS gears are good, and you have a lot of gear ratio options from what I have seen.

I have had consistency issues with prome springs lately, might just be me, but I figured I'd say it. Lately I have been using springs from clandestine airsoft.

As phil said the mad bull barrels are Teflon coated and eventually wear, I would recommend finding a good stainless steel barrel, prome, pdi, zci. If you can find someone to R-hop it I recommend doing so. If not a flat hop is a good set up and works almost just as well it just wears out overtime unlike r-hops which I have yet to hear of one wearing out...

As for the motor If you just plan on running a 120 I used a TM EG1000 on one, or a jg blue. Though for high torque I like the lonex A2 motor.

But all this could be virtually pointless if the rifle doesn't perform how you want it to. What kind of range and consistency are you looking to get?

Zci is just great for budget upgrading. Their barrels are a better deal than mad bull and I wish I'd known about them

Brill air soft also has really high quality gb shells from retro arms. A bit pricy but like he said if you're upgrading fps either radius or get a reinforced v2

As in real life, I'm hoping to get around bolt-action distance with this rifle. Now, I do realize it's close to impossible to get accuracy like an upgraded bolt, but I'm hoping to get it somewhere similar. It'd also be great if my FPS variations could stay within +/-5, and I'm shooting for as close to 450 as possible. I meant to upgrade the post, but I'll probably be getting a Prometheus barrel instead, just remembered about the coating, so thanks! I'm trying to find somebody to R-Hop it for me, but the problem is that with me being at college, I don't have my stuff with me. It'll probably end up being on my summer to-do list.

Honestly, I'd say I have about a $400-$500 budget for this build.

Thanks for the barrel recommendation, I'll have to look them up!
