Upgrading my Well MB-02g *Need help*

Hi forum!

I resently bought a Well MB-02g, and I'm looking to upgrade within near future. I have picked up a few questions though, which I would like your opinion on :yup:

First of all, reading the interwebs, it seems as AirsoftPro is the go-to when bying a new cylinder for the rifle, because of the small difference in diametre, from the normal VSR-replica.
Therefore I thought of bying all the required parts for a full upgrade on that webpage, - what do you think of their products?

The total list of components will be in the picture attached to the post (at the bottom), but I have some more specific questions about some products;
*Links to the products at the bottom of the post*

  • AirsoftPro recommends an M150 spring for the rifle, since "it has the best FPS performance and is not so hard for pull back". - Do you also think it's the best choice?
I know FPS is not equal to range, but the trigger can handle a M180, so why should M150 give the best FPS performance? (they claim final velocty of the gun will be around 160-165 m/s)

  • The Hopop-unit requires standard AEG barrels, therefore I chose an Madbull Ultimate tightbore barrel. - is this a wise choice?
The current barrel is 303mm, but this one will be 363mm. Therefore I'm thinking of going with a silencer in the front, and make "barrel supporters" in it to reduce vibration.
I've read in a sticky-post, that the barrel/cylinder ratio has to do with the guns' ability to lift heavy bb's. Bigger ratio was to make it easier to carry heavy bb's. Since I'm changing the ratio, will it have any dramatic impact on the range of the rifle?

As a final question (for now >:D), I would like to ask you about the choice of bb's. I'm thinking of buying some ASG Devil .40g for sniping.
- Will this again be a wise choice, in case of quality and weight?

I'm sorry for the long post :hehe:

Hope you want to help me out!
Cheers

Do yourself a favour, get an AA chamber instead of the airsoftpro. It is much, much better. Along with an AA barrel 6.03x430 mm and a maple leaf you'll have a great setup. Don't use a 303 or 363 mm barrel, they're too short for a VSR cylinder. You need something in the 400-500 mm range. 430 is optimal for .43 but works well with .4 as well.

The ASP trigger and cylinder are good, but their springs are overpowered. I'd suggest buying a separate spring from another brand (PDI, Laylax, AA) and using that one instead.

As for bb's, look into geoff .4's :)

Other than that you've pretty much got it covered

Alright, thank you very much Reliku

It does add a liittle to the cost, but I'm sure it's worth it.

- About the spring, what strenght would you suggest? Found AA M150 and M170?
- The barrel inner diametre you suggest is 6.03mm, why not 6.01mm?
- Also, when you say 'maple leaf', do you mean the hopup-bucking?
Hey Tutix,

Sorry, I completely missed your reply... too many threads, it happens every now and then

Anyway, to answer your questions... The spring depends on the fps limit you have at your field. I use an AA M150 which is cut down a little so it does 500 fps. Unless you plan to shoot over 550, I would recommend the 150. Otherwise go for 170. It will shoot pretty hot but you can always cut the spring to fix that :yup:

I suggest 6.03 or 6.05 over 6.01 because they're a bit more forgiving than 6.01 when it comes to dirt or bad quality bb's. They're still similar in efficiency, whereas a wider bore would really see an fps drop. 6.01 would also work, it's just more tedious because it needs to be fed good bb's and kept absolutely clean. Not like you don't need good bb's or good cleaning in a 6.03, on the contrary, but it doesn't lose as much accuracy during sustained use or if you get dust in it :yup:

And yes, with maple leaf I mean the bucking. Wrote a whole thread on that so check it out if you haven't yet

Absolutely no worries man, just glad to get help by a more experienced sniper

I've looked around for restrictions on joules at the fields near me, and it seems as a M170 won't be a problem, most of the time atleast.
I therefore think I will order the cylinder with the M150, and buy the AA M170, so that I can lower the FPS if necessary.

I absolutely thought that 6.01 mm was a must for accuracy when shooting long-range shots, mostly based on 1 video on Youtube I guess. But again, - you got the experience and I haven't.

- I Read your post on the Maple Leaf bucking, very informative and well explained

For now I think you have answered all my questions, thank you very much mate, hopefully I will have the parts soon, so that I can get the build going :shot:
