Using Smoke Grenades

First off, I am new to the forum and just want to say hello.

Now that that is out of the way.

As a sniper I don't go hardcore with the guile suit and stuff. I just wear standard army camo and a tactical suspender vest. I do have a radio for communication and 5 magazines for my l96 so ammo is no problem. And the G&G xtreme 45 as a backup.

I am just wondering if white smoke grenades can be used by a sniper, especially one like me who likes to get closer to the enemy than usual, seeing as I don't want to chuck out $$$ for upgrades to hit people at 250+ feet.

Being a teenage (17) pyro, I made 4 potassium nitrate smoke bombs, each about the size of a soda can, so they could really come in handy. I am just wondering what would be the best way I (as a sniper) could use them to my team and I's advantage.

The only time I would use them (if I carried them) is when the enemy is over running my position and I need to make a get away. The smoke can get you "lost" easily from enemy eyes and allow you to set up in another position, in which you can engage the enemy once again.

Besides that, I can see using them by throwing them at the enemies position when setting up a squad ambush, circling them and firing into the smoke with support gunners, but this is something that takes a lot of team coordination.
Smoke grenades are illegal in many states, including the one I live in; Cali. Make sure you are not breaking any fire regulation laws before you use them.

In Commiefornia they ban almost everything that is fun.....

Don't the homemade ones produce toxic smoke?

Also, alot of fields won't allow you to use ''hot'' smoke. They prefer grenades with an internal fused started by pullrigng. Check the the head guy of your field to make sure your pyro is ok.
If you are allowed to use them, they can make great cover. If your team want to move in you can throw one or if you want to exit quickly you can throw one.
