For some reason, my random vsr-10 close(unknown what brand, bought the stock and inner/outer barrel for like 5$ at a swap meet) slam fires when i hold it sideways. It fires fine when i hold it upright and most of the time upside down. If this is relevant, whenever i disassemble and reassemble the barrel/trigger/bolt assembly it takes 2-3 pulls/slams for the bolt to catch and after that it's good and doesn't slam fire at all. Haven't taken it out to the field yet and it's my first project gun so have no clue what I'm doing

Trigger box and Piston-Action Army zero Trigger

Have you checked the piston sear and if the piston surface contacting the sear is alright? Is anything rattling in the trigger box when you rotate it?
