Hello,
maybe somebody can help me.
Short introduction from my side, I'm a doctor in mechanical engineering, worked years as a mechanical designer, I'm not so often on Airsoft-events, but I like shooting with these replicas and want to have them as accurate and precise on long distances as possible.
Yes, they are still airstoft with BBs that uses the magnus-effect, so the precision has there limits ;)

So now to my near future project.
1st, I know that VSR-10 and L96 are not compatible.
My "problem" or "task" is to convert the archwick MK 13 into the G22A2
So I have 3 things to do
  • Butt-stock: That is more or less designed, after the MK13 is delivered, I will adjust some details and will decide, if I will change the direction it folds or if this will be like it is -->
  • Barrel: I want to shorten the barrel and use this muzzle (does somebody know which type of 23mm thread is used, M23 is not a typical thread, so I search for the pitch) AMOEBA Airsoft Strike AS-01 Muzzle Break for AMOEBA Striker Sniper Rifle (23mm Clockwise)
This is a bit work, but nothing serious with a turning-machine
- Last but not least, the receiver and the "biggest" problem: A Round VSR-Receiver and the round end-cap doesn't look like an L96/G22A2 at all so I have different options:
--> Designing some plastik parts for the receiver to glue them on to simulate the edgy shape
--> Building a new receiver (but after I changed my employer, I don't have the chance to use the cnc-machines anymore
--> Finding L96 look-alike parts for VSR-10

Und that is my question, does somebody know L96 look alike parts for VSR10 ??

Hi,
at the moment only my 3d printer, externsl printer-Service for lasersintering and a friends turning-machine, my old employer allowed us to use the machine-park, If we pay for using them, than i would design a completely new upper receiver-housing. Now, maybe only a shell I can glue over the original receiver-housing.
And yes, a new, square end-cap is mandatory 😋

Maybe Nelson read this, so I can Design the parts, give him the files and he pays with parts 🤣

Is this for gameplay or as a showpiece.

For a showpiece I would look at Wells AWP copies and modify which ever one looks closest already.

For gameplay why not start with a l96/aps2 base like the MB01?

Is thier any reason you want the base gun to be vsr based?

Hi,
I want a usable G22A2 look alike, maybe not for game-play but for long-range-target-shooting.
The MK13 has already the best Chassis for this, licensed by Accuracy International, only the butt-stock is the "old" version, the AXMC and the G22A2 uses a newer one.
But this is the easiest thing, needs some time for designing on CAD, and a bit of painting and screwing and bending metal-sheet but that's it.

And this stock is made for a VSR-10 platform, which is in my world, not the worst thing to start with, for a precise airsoft rifle.
Next thing, Archwick has a 40 ccm cylinder/piston-system for this (will released within the next few days), so I can use heavy BBs with a longer inner barrel.

So, it maybe is not the worst thing to start from this pount

So, the first part arrived, a Lindu optics 5-25x56 scope from aliexpress, originally it was black, with some masking and spray-paint, it is now Coyote tan.
The Mk13 will arrive next week, so I kam Start the design of the parts.

Hi,
I need the united experiances of this educated community.
I want to use 0.48 bio-bbs. Link
My MK13 will arrive tomorrow, it has an inner-barrel of 535mm x 6.03, the new 40 ccm cylinder is ordered too, with the new tti-zero Trigger, I will get 42 ccm cylinder-volume... the the ratio is 2.66:2
So, with a 470x6,05 Lambda five, the ratio is 3,11:1 but the outer barrel would be 65mm longer than the inner.
Is there any experiance, how much longer the outer could be ??

Or should I design a funnel for 3D-printing to the end of the outer ?

Having a shorter inner barrel should not cause an issue unless the inner barrel is not stable or centred. Another issue when using extra short inner barrels is when using too much hop but since you are using 0.48gm, you should not have this issue

I think I've got 200-250mm of free space in front of my inner barrel before the end of the outer barrel. There's basically no issue doing this, keeping in mind what 1tonne mentioned. The only thing I'd add is you will want to keep any holes that the bb needs to pass through (after the inner barrel) about 9mm or larger. Trying to make those openings tight introduces some turbulence in that area and can reduce shot consistency.

thanks a lot guys!
I will get a real steel AX chassis from a friendly shop-owner (he has it some years in his inventory, so he lend it to me for some time) to design the folding-stock and measure all dimensions I need.

IT HAS BEGUN (sorry watched Mortal Kombat 1995 some days ago)
Today I received my MK13 Mod 7.
I like a lot of the design-ideas, but sometimes the product has more potential :p
- I had a lot of play and a scratchy pullback of the cylinder. The inner-dieameter of the guide-rings was ok, but could be a bit smaller, but the outer-diameter was much too small, so the guide-rings had play of arround +-0,5mm, so the cylinder too.
I printed some new and now the play is gone, for me I adjusted the thickness of the front-guide-ring till the barrel is in perfect position when I screw it in, when the outer barrel stops, because it reached the guide-ring as block (this is not possible in production, because of the tollerances)
- fixation of the inner-barrel: The inner-barrel has a bit play too in the end-cap/14mm thread, but I will fix this issue when I cut the inner barrel, maybe a layer of tape could help too.

But after my inspection and optimisation, I started to design a cover/or new upper receiver in the G22A2-look.
I asked Nelson already for the original cad-files, so maybe I can design for Archwick a complete new receiver, that fits to the current interface.
Otherwise I have to decide, If I only print a cover or if I mill a complete receiver, which is, from technical point of view, the best way.

If Nelson/Archwick is interested, they will get my files exclusiv.

Now it is a bit more detailed, still not ready, but now you can see, what it will be.

At the moment still a cover-shell for the MK13 upper with the original bolt handle and for some detailed work on the printed parts, because I don't have the original CAD-files.
But from my point of view, looks promissing.

Hi,
I had the luck to buy a slightly damaged AX-Chassis and I used All parts I could for the MK13.
The 16" hand guard is not interchangable without effort, so my 3D-Printer has to help.
The plastic-parts are completley interchangable, so I build the Airsoft above and the Chassis below.
Only one thing is not perfect, the colormatch of the plastic-parts, they are to "yelloish" than the original one.
The metal parts are not perfect, but quiet ok in color.

Ok,
my scope-mount arrived today and I was at a local car-painter, he will mix me the color of the plastic and for the metal parts, so I can print a 3" Handguard extension and the cover-shell for the upper receiver.
In the meantime, I look at the more or less complete MK13, it looks cool with the new stock, only the bipod is missing.
I have now a M160 spring, with 0,28 I have 3.11 and with 0.49 bb I have 3.06 joule, the inner barrel is too long for the volume of the cylinder, but This will change next month.

One thing, if you want to buy the MK13, please de-assemble it, there is nearly no grease in the cylinder or elsewhere.
I lubricated the cylinder-rings and everything worked perfekt.
I have an angle-indicator with a level-gauge, but the scope-mount has leve-gauge too.

But I think, it looks cool ;)
