What brand and rifle exactly did you get him?

 

It doesn’t look like vsr or it’s clones’ to me ��♂

 

This is the VSR-10 that he has. Bought from Amazon. Is it possible that there are different manufacturers of VSR-10's???

The mag catch in this gun, does not match the replacment parts on-line.

 

Can you snap a pic of the inside area where that fits into on the stock?

 

Cyma VSRs are slightly different in some areas, including the mag catch apparently. I think you'll have a hard time replacing that one unless you manage to find an original part.

The only VSR brands I'd recommend nowadays are the WELL MB03, JG BAR-10 and the original TM one. Other brands like cyma can have differences that make upgrades a real pain.

 

Or like plazmaburn intends to do, is see if it’s difficult to fit aftermarket part even tho it’s a bit different, if you want enough you can make it work. Pic would help a lot

 

Well if worse comes, you can use some epoxy putty and build it back.

 

Yeah there's always the option of trying to piece the old one together. May be easier too. Try and put a metal pin in between the broken parts to connect them along with epoxy, that'll hold. I've repaired an aeg tappet plate that way once :hehe:

 

I repaired a GBB nozzle that broke the feed tab off like that once. Still works to this day.

 

It could be possible that the original mag catch design could work, they do the same thing.

 

interesting, any CYMA vsr I've ever seen doesn't have a serial number on the receiver, perhaps an updated version with a weird new mag catch? :/
