In theory: Not really. Your piston should have hit the end of the cylinder after the BB has left the barrel, which by the time you can really feel the shock the BB has already been out of the rifle and be flung towards the target.

However it should be emphasised that a lighter piston would in general be quieter (and cause less stress) to the system however minimal that would be.

In my experience, my heaviest piston set up is the quietest vs lightest. This is edgi sap btw
