Transitioning from a DMR style aeg to a sniper and was wandering it a sniper that fires 530fps with .12s and 470fps with .20s be under 450 FPS(my site limit) with .28 or .30 or would something heavier be better? Would this be too slow for mid to long range engagements (just out of aeg range)?

With a sniper your main advantages are sound and accuracy.
That being said, an AEG will shoot just as far as a sniper, it just takes a 30 round burst compared to one shot.
I would suggest the Novritsch SSX303 with that power level in mind as it is quiet, accurate, and sort of is a sniper.
You are already at a disadvantage with a BASR, and at that power level you will have terrible luck.

As for BB weight, go as high as you can go, or try to stay above 290 FPS with that weight of ammo.
I myself like BLS .48g in my VSR and my M4, and these really cheap .43g in my SSX23.

Because of my FPS limit would you recommend any parts to add to a VSR10 G-spec(unless it’s bad) to allow for 450 FPS but a heavier BB like .40+

Bulltrigger
Laylax piston
AA hop chamber
Pantera nub
AA 6.01X430mm barrel
Maple Leaf 2021 85° MR-hop
Maybe a new cylinder
Maybe a new spring guide
Maybe a new spring
Longbowbb guide sleeve
Laylax suppressor adapter
Bigger suppressor plus filling
Lots of diy barrel spacers
Foam filled stock
Piston weighting

You should be able to launch a .50 with that setup if you weight the piston correctly and everything seals.
Still, the SSX303 will be quieter than most VSR-10 out there, probably more accurate than a lot, and cheaper than almost all.
Unless you REALLY want to put yourself at an extreme disadvantage beyond a regular sniper, you're better off with the SSX303.
