I have a custom programmed airsoft physics application (no I won't give it to you) that I can use to figure out your max distance with the perfect hop. Just leave a comment in this thread with the following:

BB weight
FPS with that weight
Your Height

I'll respond with a 0 degree angle distance (with perfect flat hop) and a perfect angle to shoot at. It might take me some time to respond to everyone but I'll get to you eventually :)

EDIT: You will have to FINE tune your hopup for these results. I am fine tuning the RPM (Rotations Per Minute) to achieve these results, unfortunately you can't set an RPM from your hopup :(

Best setup (This has a slight overhop at the end)

.43 @ 330fps

0 degrees max flat trajectory distance = 250 feet
0 degrees max distance = 346 feet

Best setup (this is pretty much flat for 300 feet, it looks amazing on my graph chart :D)

What? How could these 3 things tell you a max distance? It doesn't calculate bb defects, barrel length, hop up unit, among other things. Correct me if I am wrong.

It most likely calculates it from a "perfect rifle". So the answer won't be exact but close enough.

Height: 6 foot 2 inches (more or less, but still tall for 14...)
.40 = I think 250 fps give or take 20 fps
.25 = 420 fps, but some sites say 340 fps :nuts:

What? How could these 3 things tell you a max distance? It doesn't calculate bb defects, barrel length, hop up unit, among other things. Correct me if I am wrong.
This is max distance under ideal conditions. The barrel length doesn't matter because that just determines the FPS and RPM (rotations per minute) of when the BB leaves the barrel and the physics of the BB's flight is determined after the BB leaves the barrel.

just adding, barrel length is more to handle the air volume your weapon pushed out with the bb. 1:1.7 barrel to cylinder volume ratio is your sweet spot for lost potential

That thing is way off, it looks like it barely considers hopup if at all.

Geograd's is probably a little closer to true given best case for everything

Um, I put his numbers in and got 185.76 for the .28 and 149.9 feet for the .43, what numbers did you use?
