I read the same thing as well, I hope that WE can get this right.

I have never used any RA Techs parts, but I know that many player's rave them. Usually cost prohibitive, much like the $1000 price tag on their SVD GBB... I just can't go there.

Once upgraded fully, you'll just about have that into it, so I'd wait for the RS because they make some quality rifles that more than likely won't break on you.
I will keep an eye on the Real Sword version of the SVD, but I just do not see myself dropping 1,000 large on any airsoft rifle... either new or by upgrading it. I try to play/shoot the platforms as they are...

But Wolf is right, the Ace VD is falling apart right out of the box.

Regarding RA... can someone tell me why this mfg is so popular? I have yet to read a full up success story on any product they put out. I realise that they make upgrade parts for GBBR platforms, But are they good upgrades? I have not read any reports of how much better they actually improve anything. I do know that the Npas they made for the WE Scar was more durable than the stock WE version... I'm getting off topic.

I do not care for the WE furniture... too shiney and plastic looking. I would rather a more military surplus look, than a museum finish on a fielded rifle. The $250 version of the WE Ace VD is aluminum, which indicates even more pot metal parts (so I have read)... this not very incouraging

I haven't also used RA-Tech parts as I don't own any GBBR yet but as I've seen from a friend who owns only gbbs the quality is much better than the stock and the material is steel.
That means you'll have to change quite a few parts to steel cause we all know what steel do on pot metal or aluminum.

Not worth anything externally due to aluminum/potmetal. S**tty WE wood cost over $100... Airsoft Cyma wood is much better.

Not worth anything internally for obvious reasons.

Not worth anything performance-wise as usual.

Not wasting my money on this. As far as I have read on TW forums; in Taiwan, WE caters to n00bs who just want herp derp moar recoil and cheap price; with zero care for external accuracy to realsteel(they cloned RealSword because RealSword is only type of SVD on market that has construction method tough enough to take gbb recoil). I see them making steel receiver; but not much else in steel.

Original announcement by we:
戰鬥版:鋁製外槍管,鋁製機匣,塑膠護手與槍托。
高級版:鋁製外槍管,鋁製機匣,木製護手與槍托。
典藏版:鋁製外槍管,鋼製CNC機匣,木製護手與槍托。
(其餘部分的零組件,全機種共通)
Short version: most expensive version has ALUMINUM outer barrel, steel cnced receiver, wood furniture(which are krap). Everything else is same with other versions.
Which means, even best one has a bunch of potmetal parts.

Where do I find cheap real SVD parts? Nowhere; they are all pretty expensive(minus rear sight) or nonexistent.

Or you can wait for the RS SVD GBB version!

When RA Tech release some parts for it, the gun will improve but the overall cost will increase, RA Tech will release steel internal parts but we all know what steel do to pot metal.

The only GBB I wanted was the Escort but it was produced in limited numbers and the price was close to $2000, from a conversion I had with the Escort owner he told they are thinking to release an impoved version in the future! Again I'm
Guessing the pricing will be sky high but it will definitely kick @ss!

Isn't WE tire of RA-Tech coming to their rescue every time they release a new gun with issues?
Something like that... Essentially RA Tech just copies the inferior parts mfg by WE and makes them out of steel or other quality material... and your GBBR gets even more expensive. If KJW and Tanio Koba would merge minds once more and make this rifle, it might be a bit more reliable... conjecture based on the track record of the KJW/TK M4 design.

I would go after this Ace VD on Arnie's, except that I just forked over some 'coin' for an un-issued military surplus 22 cal match grade rifle. Hard to pass up a real steel rifle that was a real STEAL!!
