WELL L96 AEG Bucking: ML Super macaron vs monster diamond vs others?

Hey folks, I have come to the decision that I'm going to buy an Action Army hopup chamber for my WELL L96, as to make it more upgrade proof and to finally get rid of the stock chamber that I never liked. As far as I know, maple leaf buckings seem to be a great alternative to R-hopping (which is a little to advanced for me) so I figured I'd pick one of those up, and since the AA chamber takes AEG buckings, I've been trying to compare the various models to understand which one could give me the best possible performance...

I am pretty confused and I've mostly been looking at the super macaron and monster diamond, both 60 degrees. Which one would you guys recommend? I am obviously more than open to any other suggestion as I'm a near-complete noob.

Note: my gun will produce about 1 joule of energy, as that is the italian limit, and I'm going to use a 500mm rifled barrel by Grizzly labs (italian company, people around here love these, as they seem to bring the best out of low-powered replicas)

I apologize if I missed posts that already explained this, I tried my best to do my research beforehand, but most of more "educational" posts seem to be old and newer buckings have come out since! Thanks a lot!!

You're correct: 90-95% of RHop performance for SO much less work and fiddling. The most modern Maple Leaf design is going to be the MR.Hop, which would be my recommendation.

My choice would be the 85 degree silicone MR.Hop, given that silicone is so much grippier than rubber, even at harder durometers, so you get the advantages of a harder rubber without the real disadvantages. Don't get the softer versions, as those tend to be too soft and too sticky.

The PDI W-Hold is a lot older, simpler, and has less hype around it, but I really like it in lower powered setups, so that's an option as well.

Depending on FPS/power maple leaf macaron (rubber not silicone) is very well regarded. The AEG MR hop works for me in my l96 but I've heard of reports of it causing issues recently though in aegs as the silicone can become sticky.

Sounds great, thanks! I would need an omega nub with the Mr. Hop, is that correct?

Thanks man!! I'll probably pick up a spare bucking if I decide to go down the Mr. Hop route in case I run into issues

I don't like the omega nub, personally. All you need to do is create a rectangular or concave "nub" that interfaces between your hop arm and the hop rubber, so I usually make my own out of plastic or even 8mm vinyl tubing. It can save you some money.

I've got a clone omega nub from ak2m4 that works well, heard the ML can be hit and miss though. @Masada does an AEG concave nub that might be worth a look at. (Not sure on chamber compatibly with l96 chambers)

In theory it should fit in anything that takes an AEG bucking or nub.

Not a fan of the omega nub either. You can make one easily enough. I have been quite happy with the begadi buckings. The shp5 60 and mag5 60 being my currents.
