If i recall correctly the pin actually goes out through the rear. Meaning you would have to remove the bolt handle to get it out.
Be careful in doing that as there is small parts that can be lost in the process. Like the small pin that allows for closing the bolthandle...

If i recall correctly that's what I did, and of course lost the pins (the literaloy just fell out, I was being careful)... but the only thing that happend was that I have a "floppy bolt", its moves freely up and down. But that never really bothered me.
