Hi guys,i got my Well MB01 l96 in december of 2014 and i am starting to upgrade it now, though i need a bit of help.I ordered a pps l96 upgrade kit for the mb01 and i will put the piston and spring guide in but not the 550 fps spring bcus my local airsoft store doesn't have any reinforced trigger boxes. Is there a way to prevent my trigger box from breaking under the pressure of the 550 fps or should i leave the stock spring(about 480 fps i think).I could use some advice on further upgrading and i am grateful for any kind of help.

Thanks in advance

Oh one more thing my trigger pull is getting a bit hard...is it a bad sign?is it starting to wear off?

Did it come with a plastic or metal trigger box? I have a L96, but it's not from Well, so I'm not sure what those come with. If it has a metal box, then you should fine for a while. I had a much stiffer spring than a 550fps spring in mine and it lasted 50k shots before it had any issues at all. (Now, I've purchased an Action Army trigger assembly and wish I would have done so earlier, it's so much better all the way around). The plastic ones could probably handle it for a while too, but I'll let someone else field that, the only plastic box I had was a 45 degree and I really never used it. If the trigger pull is getting hard, break the box open and polish up the pieces, where they meet. Also, add a little light grease in there, it will work wonders.

My stock trigger box held a 588 fps spring until I found out it was that hot. Since swapped it out and it's 498 fps, the trigger box is holding up fine. Only a couple thousand shots through it though, so no guarantees.

It's plastic, with potmetal sears, but it's supposed to handle 500fps springs just fine. I'm not planning on upgrading until it breaks, and I fear that might take a while... hehe

That's the WELL triggerbox, by the way

You can try wrapping it in electrical tape. This is supposed to support it but I would get a sheet of hard thin plastic can cut it to fit the sides of the trigger box and then glue them on. Make sure you spread the glue evenly. Also you will need to make sure that it fits back into the well in the stock.

My plastic trigger box lasted about 2 airsofting days and 150 shots in my MB-01, with the stock 433 fps (w/ .20's) spring...

I bought a metal shelled replacement for it, waay back in the day when I didn't see the point in buying a trigger assembly that cost more than the entire gun itself :\ Using the stock spring fine ever since, and finally considering getting a beefier spring.

If you're adventurous, you could test your trigger assembly! Try asking your local shop to order the upgraded one for you so you have a replacement if something goes wrong.

Thanks for the help guys

My l96 came with a plastic body(dont know what is inside)trigger box and a friend of mine uses the exact kit i ordered with his stock trigger and it never had any issues
I will try out that electrical tape trick, and see how it sounds with the 480 and then the 550 fps spring
Another thing:the trigger pull got normal the trigger sear wasn't inserted properly
