Hello all fellow airsoft snipers, what are your insights on one vs one sniper matches? If there's any special matches that you guys created, I'd like to know about them if you'd like to share as I am playing one vs one sniper matches, and would like to know the types of games and expand my options.

I really like to get a buddy and have him go to a set area and guard a point.

Then I will stalk up to the area and try and get to the objective with out him seeing me. It is really tough as he is waiting for me and we will use radios to talk back and forth to each other

Though if you have a few more guys, have them guard and do patrols trying to find you.

It's a great way to practice stealth. If you have someone looking specifically for you, with no ambient noise, you have to be WAY sneakier.

Our team does an escort mission where you have to take a VIP to a bunch of certain points on the field. The snipers objective is to pick a specific target (not necessarily the VIP) and take them out without being made. Once the target is removed they need to make their way to an extract which may or may not require them to skirt around the enemy forces.

I have a game similar to that. I would love to have me against another good sniper in a match. Get shot once and you lose. A bit similar to what Carlos Hathcock did against the Cobra or that russian (I cant spell his name) sniper in stalingrad against the german. There are very very few serious snipers in Ireland though due to the 1 joule limit and the only ones I know are myself and inthetallgrass.

I like to "GeoSnipe", just head off into the woods, set up a "hide" and text, or radio your coordinates to the opposition. Then you both get to play an interesting game as the counter-sniper can approach the coordinates from any direction (you deem fit). The sniper has to be hyper aware of his surroundings, as opposed to in a game, where they might be guarding a trail (enemy to front), etc. If you play in an area that Airsoft arms are not permitted, merely use a digital camera.

I was going to say the exact same thing! ^ I've done the Hunteering course myself and although i don't get to take part in regular games/matches because of a distance/travel issue, It is THE best to test yourself as a sniper. And boy does it test you!

Could you please tell me what hunteering is? I looked it up and I only found a vague description which confused me even more.

Watching the videos may help your understanding some. From what I understand, it's a mixture of orienteering, and the true spirit of sniping. Observing, outwitting, sneaking, and taking out your opponents without giving away your position, while keeping control of the situation. The videos should really help you understand.
