Put an adjusting grub screw facing upwards at the back of the first trigger sear (on the actual trigger). This screw would then mean that you could adjust the travel of the first stage.

You could make it lighter simply by putting a roller ball on the front of the green sear. So instead of friction pulling it off the last sear, it would roll off. LayLax and Action Army both use roll balls and that is why they have the lightest trigger on the market.
