Hi! I am a new sniper, and very trigger happy, and I need a inexpensive, reliable, gbb sidearm, preferably a M9. I am preferenced to Tokyo Marui because I have used the Glock 18c, and because of the VSR-10. I would want to spend between $90-$145. What are your thoughts? Also cool looking, and maybe a 1911 or 2011. Please Help! Maybe this. https://www.evike.com/products/46297/ All help, no matter how off topic is appreciated.

For M9s, the best option is KJW. Super reliable.

I would never consider Marui pistols, because... plastic pistol is plastic.

I'm a WE fanboy, not even try to hide it... but gotta admit their full auto "new gen" M9s, while having extreme kick and unprecedented performance, suffer from a bad case of wear down, particularly on the sear (part #52)

So it's either KJW or old gen WE.

The KJW is a solid pistol. Clone or not, its full metal and has reinforced internals. (I owned one.) So long as you maintain it properly it will last you a good long while.

As for the WE, well my opinion on them is still keep away from them. It has improved some, not enough for me to say that WE is a good option.

The whole "its a clone" argument is not even a valid argument anymore. Sure, the TM is a good pistol, you have to baby it a little bit. As Dimitri said, plastic pistol is plastic.
You dont need a pistol that shoots past 150 or 200ft, all you need is one that is accurate to 100ft. Past that you should be using your main. (This is mostly to cover your MED.)

If you do rock a TM, make damn sure you have a good locking and secured holster that fits your gun perfectly. Land on it hard, or drop it once or twice, you will find out pretty quick why I said this. You should ask my G18 all about that...

As I said, it all comes down to personal choice.

Everyone has had different experiences with different brands and models, that shape their opinions.

I have personally used/owned most brands and models of GBB pistols over the years, however a couple of years back I decided to stay with TM for skirmishing. Lots of companies make excellent looking pistols, but over the years TM have been the only ones I trust to fire every time I draw and pull the trigger.

Also worth noting that my current TM Sig has been dropped many a time. But as I said earlier, my experiences with these pistols has made me the TM fanboy I am.

I've had KJW Full metal M9 for some years. Very good sidearm, gas magazines doesn't have any leak problems.
Now i have TM M9 because when the temperature drops you'll have problems with metal slide of KJW. It is too heavy and you'll just fire a few shoots until the gas runs out. The KJW co2 magazines are not so reliable.

For most places, just switching to propylene / red gas or even black gas is enough. But really, depends on the actual temperature you mean by "when the temperature drops"

An interesting discovery regarding cold weather and pistol grips...recently my good buddy the guitar builder made me a set of flame maple grips for my KJW pistol. Oddly, they improved the cold weather issue! We studied it for a while and what we came up with was that the wood transferred and held the heat of your hands more effectively than the plastic/metal combo. Food for thought, y'know?

Speaking of M9's, anyone had experience with an SRC? I really have it bad for the Sahara, and I shouldn't, but I do...
