Where do you start?

i currently to have an G36c and im looking in to upgrading it for more of a DMR type of rifle. I read the whole holy grail of DMR thread but i have had zero experience taking a Gear box apart or anything like that. the most i have done is pull the front block off with the inner barrel to do some minor wiring work. Where do you start on this kind of stuff. any help would be appreciated.

There are a lot of takedown guides on the 'net. Since it would be your first time tinkering your AEG, I suggest have your laptop or computer right beside you to access the takedown guides easier.
