Hey, I was wondering since the type 96 is so versatile with stocks, would it be possible to make a new wooden stock for it. Would that look cool or would it be stupid and unrealistic. I think I smell another project coming on...

I suppose if you did have the tools/machinery and you did manage to make the form of the stock and have it all fit, you would still have to put a TON of super-resistant sealant because it's going to be exposed to the elements quite a bit.

Ya, you guys are right, although i don't have to make it into an L96 stock. Ther are posibilities such as just the normal stock like the VSR has but in a wooden form. And It would be cool for just a wall hanger or something, wouldn't it?

It would be too hard to shape the stock like the traditional type 96. I could make an entirely new gun type such as this http://world.guns.ru/sniper/sn41-e.htm with the maruzen internals. The two stocks could also be interchangeable, so it wouldn't be permanent. What do you guys think?

i think that it would be absolutely awesome. i do agree that this gun is a modern gun meant for a modern, synthetic stock. but the right wood stained the right color and done right would definitely make you stand out from the hundreds of black and od green ones you see everywhere
