UPDATE #1:

Filed down bottom of inner receiver where a sharp edge was abrading gas route rubber. Success!

Also sanded down body to remove sharp seams and prep for paint.

Good to see a new rifle here with some feedback on it. Good luck with the thread, I look forward to seeing more!
Thanks, Milo.

My plans so far:
1. Rechamber with VSR conversion kit
2. Laylax G-spec 303mm TB inner barrel
3. Cut down outer barrel and thread for integrated/permanent suppressor
4. Extend nozzle on bolt (biggest issue with G&G Power Bolt)
5. Paint tan
6. Convert to HPA
Looks good man! Think ill be following this one! :)

Wow, looks like you have some serious plans for this rifle!
Just took it in to AEX to chrono (stock internals still). First shot was 551 with .32s o_O

Also realized that the spare KJW bolt won't even fit (with it's longer nozzle) until I install the VSR conversion, as that will move the hop-up chamber further away from the bolt. I was hoping to chrono with that bolt, but it'll have to wait.
And why are you replacing the bolt and doing the hop-up conversion? The bolt replacement was due to not being able to get the nozzle to extend on the original bolt right? But to extend the bolt nozzle you need to move the hop up by converting it to VSR style? Do you see why I am getting confused here? What are the advantages to these two mods?

I'm just learning here, as I am new to this rifle as well.
You can remove the nozzle of the power bolt. It's simply glued.
Here's a link on how to do it..

You don't need to buy another bolt, use the stock bolt.

I knew I wanted to shorten the barrel, and improve the hop-up, since I've read complaints about the hop-up it comes with. This meant either finding an obscure steel 6.03 for M700, or converting to VSR hop-up and using a G-spec Laylax barrel. And yes, the replacement bolt was in case something goes wrong with machining the power bolt (see below).

Wolf, I read that a few days ago. I've probably read almost every thread on the G&G G96 out there.. anyhow, that thread concluded that it wasn't just glued and after a rediculous amount of trying to melt the glue, they had to machine it.
I've disabled my sound card but I found a video about the power bolt on the Youtube. It was something like "powerbolt M700/M40/M24" (Ithink it's this
) it's a German guy and there are many comment below. Somewhere says it's only glued.
Don't change the bolt....

I've been in bed with the flu the last two days. Waiting on the hop-up conversion to arrive, then I'll be hacksawing the outer barrel. I emailed G&G, who informed me it's $100 shipped for the stock replacement barrel. Oh well.
So I'm kinda failing with the whole picture part, but I'll keep posting updates. Finally installed the new 303mm VSR barrel and hop-up. Had to grind the top of the new hop up unit to fit, and now it's in fine :)

Hack-sawed the outer barrel down, there's a plastic barrel spacer right at about 295mm barrel length, so that works for now. I'll be fitting a threaded adapter in there next.

Took it out and shot it a few times (still green gas). Whew is she loud!
Oh and I didn't replace the nozzle yet. It seems to be working just fine. I'll try it out at range when I can (living in the city :/) and give an update.
The shell ejecting us still in drawings or in prototype form.
There are not actual photos of it yet.

Lol I would never use a shell ejecting weapon as a combat platform in airsoft :p
Ok so I'm still being way too lazy about posting pictures.

However, here's the current status:
Outer barrel shortened
Hop-up conversion kit installed
VSR 303mm Laylax 6.03 installed
Stock sanded for painting
Scope installed
HPA rig completed
Mags tapped

To do:
Paint
Fill HPA tank
Test
Sight in scope
Adjust hop-up
R-hop
