Can anyone go to Xtreme Kombat this saturday? It was really fun last time and it would be great to do it again. If this Saturday doesn't work we can go some other time either at XK or maybe PBC.

Well I won't make it then, because I'm planning on heading to pbc on the 18th with my team that I played with last time and maybe a couple of others. If you guys want to meet up then, that would be awesome :D

After going to Airsoft R Us' new field last week and seeing how they run things, it really opened my eyes to the lack of effort put in by the XK owners and refs. Rarely is there ever a safety briefing (They have a video but it's quite easy to get past, out of the past ten times I've played there they only chrono'd one time and it only had to be one gun, and the refs are pretty crappy about the gameplay. I've seen multiple full-auto sprays from under 5 feet away and the ref was too busy on his phone to handle it. It just seems to me personally like there is an extreme disregard to when it comes to how they run the field. Hey, maybe i'm just an odd man out and that is the norm for other places but I've heard that even when playing at Cool Combat they spot check guns to make sure they are under the limits. And I have heard that PBC is a great field. I think I might put this on the XK sub on the ncairsoft forums. Sorry to burst anyones bubble I just saw Geist's post about how PBC is a lot better and it really got me thinking to just how sub-par XK has been for me.

THIS!^
This is exactly what I have been saying for a long time, ever since I tried out other fields. Don't worry, you're not the odd-man out. So to start off, XK is completely disrespectful when it comes to players, fps, game play, and stealing. Believe it or not, XK is the most common field in NC that stuff gets stolen from. Just check the lost and found section on the forums... Also the game play sections at the field aren't very balanced and often to come up to be as much fun as, let's say, some of PBC's fields. The refs often don't pay attention, and I've seen people even test them, and they don't notice anything at all. Also, when it comes to players, XK is the field that attracts the most disrespectful, degrading, gear whoring, and unintelligent players in airsoft. I've started to regret going to the field, just because of these people. Also, the PRICE of the field is too damn high. I swear $30 for a day of airsoft? That's insanely over priced. Especially for a bad field like that. PBC is only 15 and it is ten times better, nicer, and more enjoyable. These aren't all my complaints against them, but I'll kinda leave it on this point. Lastly, the field is a major, I mean MAJOR, health hazard. The amount of paint build-up, mold, unsafe structures, and everything in between is not safe. My dad looked at the field only once and immediately said, "if this was in New York, this place would be sewed for all that mold." Also, my little brother was once majorly hurt in one of the buildings by falling into a 3 foot deep hole. He could have broken his leg... Like even PBC, which is a paintball and airsoft field, puts an effort in keeping the field safe and getting rid of some of the major paint build up.
So, just my two cents, but these pennies come from experience, not opinion.

Geist and mtcox, you guys nailed it right on the head. At first I didn't really think about it, but know after looking back, PBC is a ton better. At XK, not once were my spotter and I asked to chrono, not if we had chronoed. We were sniping too, so I would assume that more "care" would be taken to see if we had chronoed. Not only that, some of the refs were straight up jerks to my spotter and I, which is not at all how one should treat their customers. If nobody came to the field, they wouldn't even have a job! Also, PBC has more gameplay "areas" then XK, and they do it all for half the price.

I spoke to the manager of XK a while ago and it appears that they are going to completely redo most all of the fields, I would really love to see a collaborative field design going on for them to work off of! And yeah the field really dose suck, but I just can't drive to Greenville to play for a day and drive back... Oh well, but yeah the refs never call anything other than game and it's getting pretty insane how much you have to pay just to get in and play. Anybody want to start a field in Zebulon?
