However, I think the template is flawed. It says more about your guns performance than the bb's. A good rifle could have better results with terrible bb's than a bad rifle would have with the very best bb's. You'd need some kind of reference for the template to work, all would have to shoot a reference series with G&G bb's for example. It's very hard to draw any conclusions from a single series with a random rifle.

Not that I think all would have to get hold of a certain brand of bb's. Unsure of what would be most practical, though comparing at least two brands one could definitely say which one is best of those two.

 

Agree. Nice idea but I think you need a scientific lab for this.

Pretty much everything in Airsoft is subjective to ones experiences. Also weather factors along with users individual setup will all play a role in effect the results.

 

You also could have to exact rifles set up the exact same and use the same bbs they would perform different and bbs are mad produced and none are perfect.



So you could say i soley use madbull precision in my vsr, i could say i use asg blater bbs and madbull are shite

You guys make good points, but just hear me out.

I know there is endless combinations and setups, but a good BB will perform good in any rifle or at least I think so If 10 guys with 10 different rifles had good experience and good results with the same BB chances are I am gonna have good results too. The more data we collect the more accurate the results will be. Also I could create top 10 list with average results based on all test results with same BB brand and weight. Thoughts ?

 

Testing BB's doesn't have to involve shooting them, as shooting tests the firing source with the BB simply being a variable in the output. What we need is a report on who makes the best BB.

A BB assessment needs to focus on the elements that make up the BB: weight variation, diameter variation, material consistency/inclusion prevalence, and out-of-bag cleanliness. Measuring all these things requires a scale (0.001g accuracy), a micrometer (0.001mm accuracy), something to repeatedly split BB's with, wipes to detect release agent presence and a LOT of time.

I seem to remember seeing someone who was doing a similar assessment in the 0.40g BB thread, but I could be mistaken.

I`m waiting for my shipment of 0.36 guarders and 0.40 madbull. I currently have 0.30 G&G and 0.28 guarder. Once I get them all I`m gonna make big test and review. Ill try to make BBs assessment ( i have all the tools needed ) like Corriander suggested and also gonna do the shooting and accuracy test because its fun

 

My local airsoft field enforces the "buy on site" policy. Today I went by to try out their 0.4g Bio Sudden Impact brand bbs. I bought 1000 of them to test them out because there seems to be no knowledge of them anywhere online. To make a long story short - they are terrible. There are seem lines on them and small dents everywhere. I tried shooting 25 rounds in my JG BAR10 and the black colour coupled with insane inconsistency made it impossible to zero the scope or find the perfect hop up setting. Do yourself a favour and save $20, I'll be returning the unopened bag and melting the opened bbs into a cannonball.

 

Wow, I did not know some fields are pulling the "FPO" card. for those that don't know that it stands for "Field Paint Only," paintball term. In this case its FBO "Field BBs Only."

FPO is how most paintball fields make their money to stay open. Generally its a special shell and fill to make it easy to ID.

I have no clue how that field is going to pull that off and stay successful.

 

At the end of the day it's about dollars. Either they charge more on entrance or field only Bbs.
