Anybody have any experience with this rifle? The KJW M700 isn't in my price range considering all of the things I would have to buy for it and I found this. I like how light it is and how good of a back up it would be to my M14. I just want to know how good the range is and maybe what upgrades would be good. Thanks!

DO NOT GET THE AIM SVD GBBR!!!! Its a money pit..

The Mk1/Mk2 carbine has a very hard trigger pull, accuracy is poo, and its hard to get parts for. Of course like most rifles, if you have money to invest into it, it can be a cool rifle though. I had one back in 2006 and I liked it, but couldnt use it much.

I suggest a Bar10 or something like that. Right now in our commerce section in the "Web deals" there is a link to a boneyard Bar10 on Ebay for $35! Whatever the problem it has... It CAN be fixed! Everyone here has dealt with Bar10 for the most part and can help you all the way.

I make custom parts also, so if you need something I could possibly be able to help. My pistons are good, and Springer makes and sells the S Trigger which is a Zero trigger and works with a 90 degree piston. I have an S Trigger on my M28 and a 90 degree piston and its pretty badass!

If your just starting airsoft, or even sniping. Gar rifles are not the way to go buddy. Upkeep and upgrades cost a lot! Spring rifles are easier to fix, and parts are much much easier to find.

I used to have one. I sold it for $20 a few months ago and I almost felt like I was ripping the person off... He offered 25 but I said 20.
Although it is fun to shoot, it is pretty much unusable in a skirmish. It is about 500 fps and has a range of about 100ft. Within its affective range it is too powerful to use without hurting people, but outside of 100ft the bbs do crazy things.
I tried to make it better by using .4g bb's, but since it has some weird proprietary hopup design, they fall straight to the ground.
It is almost impossible to upgrade (at least I didn't find any parts) and there aren't many DIY mods that would be easy to do.

I would advise you to stay away from this gun if you plan to skirmish at all. It would be well worth it to save up for an m700. And as Patton said, you can sometimes find some really good deals on them.

From what I have heard, the carbine is plagued with problems. Have you looked on craigslist? I bought a KJW M700 in working order for $120 off there.
