So, while working on the hop up of my current Mk12 build, the spring on top of the housing (that didn't do a heck of a lot, I might add) shot off into the abyss. Seeing as I had a spare motor that was lying around, that I don't have plans to use any time soon, I experimented with the spring that normally sits on the shaft of the motor. What I found, is that the spring seems to be the perfect size to slide it over top of the barrel, and still fit inside the outer barrel! Wanting to see if this would work, I reassembled my gun (requiring a little bit of force due to the stronger and longer spring that is fitted), and gave it a test fire. From my experience, it seems to have functioned flawlessly, and a large improvement over the small spring from the factory.

My question is, can anyone forsee any disadvantages from using this system? I found it more convenient than slipping o rings over top, so I'm curious as to how it stacks up!
