Well, my 2 cents is in on bb design, but I find it kind of cool that so many of us have similar thoughts at the same time. (Must be the summer air!) I was thinking of different bb designs during Finals last week, it definitely helped with the boredom

. You could always make a plastic pellet (like BB gun metal/lead pellets) @ higher velocity, + fragmentation for safety, but each one presents its own problems. My 2 revised cents +food for thought.

Well, I think that at this point everyone is ignoring it because it stopped looking like an airsoft gun.

I mean, that compensator must be really compensating for something! ;) I am trying to imagine the size of the gun based on the parts you've already shown, and I think you are making a vehicle mounted machine gun, like maybe a .50 cal!!

I kid though. Its really nice, and I appreciate it that you are actually going through with this, and investing your time and money, and letting us see your progress.

Is this still an airsoft gun?

What is your estimated cylinder volume to barrel volume ratio?
10:1?

Well, I want to know how you plan on getting plastic 300' away without hop up.
High fps (long/big cylinder with lots of air volume)? Plastic pellets?
How are the 'mags' going to work, or will it be a built in tube that you feed into?
Lastly (for now), do you have the body/receiver done?

The great thing about your project is that I've been thinking of doing something like this, but not as extreme (just a custom parted VSR or the like), because even though I love my ASR, it sometimes makes me very mad when it fails on me.

I love what your doing, and since you seem to be building several at once, I assume you are going to be selling. If so, I call dibs (unless I can't get enough cash even if I sell my car to buy one).
